Turn on your PCI so you can actually see it. Go into BP and stride and watch what the PCI does. You will notice that there is a big window for making it stay the same size. There is a small window for making it bigger but you don't really need to be concerned about that. Just be relaxed and have a fluid motion of what you think the right time to stride is. It's very hard to actually get penalized. You really have to be way off.

According to http://seattlesportsinsider.com/news...s-wild-pitches the league average for 2010 was 11-12 passed balls for the entire season. They mention that wild pitches are 4x more likely. So I can see this happening with guys like AJ Burnett on the mound but I still think we see too many. Some balls just look like they could be stopped by the catcher.
This has been an ongoing problem with the show since forever. I seem to remember last year adjusting the pitcher control or was it pitcher consistency slider helped get rid of the problem.

The one thing that helps me out is to watch the ball in the pitchers hand and only start your stride when you see the ball at the top of the pitchers release point (just when he is about to release the ball).

If you are playing a season/chise, find out what pitcher you are facing next and go to batting practice using the pitcher you will be facing next to get used to his delivery point.

Experiment with different camera angles also when hitting (you will find one where you can see the ball better) or lower the pitch speed to help with pitch recognition.

Another BIG thing in analog hitting is only moving the analog stick back a little bit for the stride. Don't pull it all the way back. This WILL make a difference. Moving the stick from this position is much faster. Your swing quickness will increase. You will not be getting fastballs blown by you nearly as much as if you pulled the stick all the way back. Same thing works for pitching. I just find it easier to control the stick when it's in the 40% range opposed to 0%. 0% meaning right stick all the way down and 100% all the way up. 50% being it's default middle position.
Thank you for this, it entirely changed my hitting for the good. When you just pull back a little, your right thumb seems to be more directly on top of the analog stick, giving me much more control/feel on the human side of it. Makes it easier to get those pitches inside and outside because there is less distance to cover with the analog stick(it seems). I still struggle to pick up pitches out of the pitchers hands(not a lot of walks), but the hits are there. All Star level, and my sliders are adjusted in contact, power, and solid hits to 7. Sometimes while waiting for the pitch i will pull back a few times(real fast) to get a real good feel of the batters load stance, and overal feel.
