if your gunning for the playoffs, i would try to trade a prospect or two for a valuable piece. i would keep sheets (assuming its ben), duscher, and reynolds

reynolds hasnt played well, guthrie, arrieta, matuz. and britton have been playing great. sheets has 7.77 era.

Assuming it's the 2011 season, I would probably go for players in the last year or two of their contract to make it seem realistic.

At 3B I would go after Aramis Ramirez from the Cubs, Michael Young of the Rangers (since they have 2 great 3B), or Casey McGhee of the Brewers.

The Athletics could really use a 3B, so I would try and trade Reynolds there, where you can try and get Brian Fuentes or Andrew Bailey to close.

I guess Weiters is just playing badly? I don't know why else you'd be shopping catcher. I'd go after Napoli of the Rangers, Ramon Hernandez of the Reds, or Victor Martinez (1B) of the Tigers.

With all the unplesantry talk about the AI and near realistically trades. Check this one out. Philles traded C Ruiz, prize OF Singleton and another AAA player for DET C-1B Martinez. I think this is pretty fair for video game baseball. To me which is the ultimate fantasy baseball.

Ruiz is hardly a center piece guy to build a trade around for a big name like V-Mart.

I was not stating its something that the teams would do in real life, but its possible. People on the forums always talks about unfair trades by the CPU. I was just impressed by it... I think Ruiz is rated B and Singleton is prize minor leaguer a 3 for 1 trade.

Does anyone know how to acquire Tim Lincecum in a trade. I'm playing as the Rangers and I want to add him. I know it wouldn't be realistic trade that would happen in real life but I like to pitch with him. I'm not intrested in trading Hamilton, kinsler or andrus. If I have to do multiple trades I will. I just want to know if others have acquired him and what it costs to get him.

In my Cubs franchise I am less than a week before the trade deadline. 1.5 games up on the Pirates and 7.5 on the Cardinals and both teams just made big deals.

The Pirates acquired Michael Pineda and a minor leaguer from the Mariners for 2 "A" prospects and Jose Tabata. They also traded for Vernon Wells giving up 1 "A" prospect and a "B" minor league pitcher.

The Cardinals traded 3 "A" prospects to the Mets for a prospect, SP Chris Young and SS Jose Reyes.
