I'd ask for 3 young A overall players with long term contracts, nothing less . You just try and draft a pitcher with A velocity and A potential like Turner, it can't be done. I've been simming 5 1/2 seasons and I haven't seen one yet.

I simmed 25 on MLB 09 and only 1 or 2 SP came through with A pot and velo.

Unfortunately, this signals the end for Rios in a Sox uniform. Viciedo is ready and will only push for more playing time.

Im 52-51, 3 games back of DET. I need another starter in case of injury or poor performance (looking at you Peavy & Buerhle) down the stretch. Im looking at:

James Shields TB (Rays have rejected twice)
          Shawn Marcum MIL
          Kevin Correja PIT

Anyone else I should target? (save young prospect ideas, pilfering young, potential stars is not fun and cheesy to me)
I've called up Viciedo too for a struggling Rios. I feel too he is now MLb ready and he gets the starting RF job.

          C. Young (NYM) should be on the block.
          L. Hernandez (WAS)
          D. Lowe if the Braves are falling out of contention (in my franchise the Red Sox traded for him)
          A. Sanchez (FLA)
          J. Saunders (ARI)
          J. Pinieiro (LAA)

Looking at starting a Pirates franchise, I was toying with trades to get a first baseman and I can make deals to get either Adam Dunn or Adam Lind. Which one do you guys think you be better to get?
What's with this chick? Does she have beer flavored nipples?

Lind, he's a cheaper and more realistic acquisition in the Pirates mindset. I'd suggest toying some more though, as a Pirates fan I'd want more than Lind at 1B over Overbay.

Haha exactly... I was trying to find more but it seems nobody is willing to give up first baseman. I would love to make a deal for Fielder ... Also I wanna get a veteran pitcher for the young staff to "help" along the way. Any ideas?

*On a side note, in the Adam Dunn deal I was able to also get Buehrle with. Should I pull that trigger? Reason I say Dunn is because I heard hes a monster in this game.

Any adequate 1B is an upgrade over overbay

Youre right, Dunn mashes in the game, when hes on, I see the ball so well with him. Leds my team in HR, RBI, & slugging %. Conversely, he leads the AL in strikeouts. With several 0-4, 3 K games.

Buerhle should be good in the NL, hes not overpowering at all and he gets rocked often for me in the AL.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition

Ive made a trade in my Padres franchise with the Cubs.

Padres get: SP Matt Garza and 2B Blake DeWitt.

Cubs get: RP Mike Adams, 2B Orlando Hudson, and a B Potential 3B.

I only made this trade out of necessity I suppose. Mat Latos was on the DL and a Harang led pitching staff wasn't going anywhere. I let Hudson go because he just simply wasn't producing for me, even though he was starting to catch on, and because I like DeWitt. He's younger than O-Dog and he can produce for me lower in the order which is what I want.

Now I have a nice top of the rotation with Latos, Garza, and Harang. I pretty much moved Bartlett up to 2nd behind Maybin who's producing for me in the leadoff spot.

If you're looking to keep it realistic forget Fielder, the Pirates fanbase hates him and Braun.

I would suggest getting a 3B, then you can swich Alvarez to 1B (there has been talk of this IRL). Teams seem to be more willing to part with 3B as well.

Yeah, if you want someone kind of cheap and young, Chase Headley of the Padres would be a good option. Hits for some power and is normally in the .290 range for me.

More expensive options would be Aramis Ramirez(CHC), Edwin Encarnacion(TOR), Placido Polanco (PHI), Scott Rolen (CIN)

Headley is a great idea. I hadn't ever thought of him, but he would fit in nicely in Pitt.
