Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
I'm pursuing Chacin because he's on the trading block and is a cheap young pitcher, but for some reason whenever I add one player the interest bar is about one third full, but when I add another player it just goes all the way down no matter who the player is. The Mets where the only team I found where this didn't happen. I already offered the trade and if they reject it I'll just play it out a little longer.Madden 25 - Steelers

I'm 4 games into my second season, but I've been trying to trade Stauffer since about halfway through the offseason. And also Gee is the #3 starter for the mets and Chacin is the #4 starter for the Rockies in my franchise.Madden 25 - Steelers

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
I was just taking this year into consideration but either way im sure Chacin has a higher potential rating then Gee...Stauffer's a servicable 5th starter on a good team but I see why u would wanna get rid of him...Being an A's fan, i love Gio Gonzalez so that might be an option for u...young, cheap, very talented lefty with above-average stuff...might have to give up a bit for him tho...Cueto from the Reds is another good, young live arm....so is Anibal Sanchez from the Marlins....Steelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Good luck getting Gio, I've been throwing so many different packages at the A's and they won't part with him. You'll have to give up a lot. The Reds seem willing to part with Cueto easily, and the Yanks are good to deal with too if you want to go look at them. They have some solid young starters. I'm not sure how quick they will get rid of him, but Mike Minor of the Braves is pretty good on this game and he is young, cheap, and has high potential. But my favorite pitcher so far in my franchise has been Fransico Liriano. Traded for him the first day I got the game and started my franchise. I am tearing stuff up with him. Leading the league in WHIP, 2nd in ERA, and 3rd in strikeouts. Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
More like a 3rd, 4th, or 5th starter. My top two starters are Mat Latos and Max Scherzer and they'll stay there. My 3-5 starters are pretty equal as far as overall goes (Clayton Richard, Aaron Harang, Tim Stauffer). So I'm basically looking for a 3rd-5th starter to replace Stauffer.Madden 25 - Steelers

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Just swung a big 3-team deal in my 30-team total control franchise. After some tinkering, this is how it went down on July 5, 2011.
Rays (57-31) Receive
CP Heath Bell (3.04 ERA, 22/24 SV)
Nationals (50-37) Recieve:
CF B.J Upton (.268, 14 HR, 53 RBI)
Padres (42-46) Receive:
SP Alex Cobb (From Tampa- Age 23, 3.66 ERA with 65 SO in 73 IP in AAA)
C Derek Norris (From Washington- Age 22, #2 Prospect in system. Hitting .255 with 12 HR in AA)
SP Sammy Solis (From Washington- Age 22, #6 prospect in system. Pitching in Class-A)
Why it made sense:
San Diego, sitting 9 games out of first place and even further back in the NL wild card race, wanted to ensure that it received something worthwhile for Bell. GM Jed Hoyer considered keeping Bell until the end of the season, offering arbitration, and receiving 2 compensatory first-round selections for Bell as a Type A free agent. Instead, he opted to fill a long-term need at catcher with Norris, who should see the majors at some point in 2012. Nick Hundley (.215/.277/.332) is not the answer behind the plate. He also brings in a projected middle-of-the rotation starter in Solis and a #4/#5 guy in Cobb.
Washington, the surprise of the season to this point, possessed one major and glaring weakness: center field. Roger Bernardina (.216) and Laynce Nix (.173) have both been miserable, and free agent signee Rick Ankiel has spent most of the year on the disabled list. GM Mike Rizzo desperately wanted a young yet proven center fielder with whom the team could move forward in the next several years, and they were able to acquire one by dealing from positions of strength. In particular, the Nats' glut of catchers enabled them to make the move, as Wilson Ramos is having a fine season and projects as the team's backstop for the foreseeable future. Upton immediately slides in to the #2 spot in the lineup behind hot-hitting shortstop Ian Desmond.
Tampa Bay was the primary initiator of this deal, originally contacting San Diego about Bell's availability. When it became clear that the two could not match up well enough to finalize a deal, GM Andrew Friedman contacted Rizzo to offer Upton. Meanwhile, the Rays fired the opening salvo in the battle for the AL East, where Tampa (57-31), Boston (57-31), and New York (54-34) and primed for an incredible second-half race. The Rays felt they needed to immediately upgrade their closing situation, where Kyle Farnsworth had converted 24 out of 30 saves with a 5.41 ERA. He will now be moved back to an 8th-inning role. Though he was having a fine year, the Rays are unlikely to miss Upton due to the arrival of center fielder Desmond Jennings, the organizations top hitting prospect. Through the first half of the year in Triple-A, Jennings was hitting .312 with 12 homers and 55 RBI to go along with 28 stolen bases. He was immediately promoted to the majors and will take on the everyday role in center field, teaming with Matt Joyce and Johnny Damon in the outfield. Sam Fuld was dealt several weeks ago to the White Sox.

I think that's well thought out.
What's Upton's contract like though? If he's a rental....that's a little steep for him.
Not bad though.

Hey guys I'm new to baseball, but I love my hometown twins, and I was wondering what realistic trades I could pull to make their pitching more solid/dominant? ThanksNot a Minnesota Fan, but I am still waiting for Minny to bring home a Title... NOT INCLUDING THE LYNXComment

If you're willing to trade top end prospects, a lot of pitchers are open to you. Two A prospects and a good major leaguer can land you high end talent, at a cost of course, but if you want to win now, it's not a bad move.EPL - Arsenal
MLB - Seattle Mariners
NBA - Cleveland Cavaliers
NFL - Philadelphia Eagles
MLS - Seattle Sounders
