this happens to me a lot. when i try to pitch to the left of the plate(pitcher perspective) i think my thumb is going to the left, but its going right up the middle and then the ball is over the wall

I was getting lit up until I view a Youtube video tutorial showing how to pitch using analog. I was pitching everything dead center plate LOL. I play with the Braves and the only team so far that give me fits are the Yankees.

I absolutely love the new analog controls. Gives me a level of difficulty that wasnt present in previous games. In previous games i could get ERA's of nder 2.00 consistently. While that was fun, I felt I was too good, and that was pitching under HOF difficulty.

In this year, I feel like I'm in more control. Its more realistic, as I have more mediocre games. Yes, its frustrating when they go nuts on me. I freaking had a 14.50 ERA against the White Sox! But, it's also more rewarding when i pitch a good game, such as my revenge game against them, in which I only allowed 2 hits, 0 runs, and struck out 11.

Personally, just as I struggled mightily with the Analog Hitting, but forced myself to understand what i needed to do and finally feel comfortable doing it, I would rather have to work at the game, and reap the rewards and the satisfaction of making the adjustments.

For others, tuning the game to have 10-run hitfests and perfect games and 15 strikeout games is where they would rather see their game be...

So again, to each his own, but I would rather work at something and get better at it than shut it off and feel like the game beat me.

i understand where you're coming from, but i go for realism. when i pitch analog, i suck at it and give up way more runs than i feel is realistic. after adjusting sliders, when pitching with meter, i may give up anywhere from 0-6 runs up in a game, which i feel is more of an acceptable range (i was giving up at least 5 runs a game, every game). sure, i could keep practicing analog, but i prefer using the meter. guess it's just preference.

Preference options is what makes The Show the only baseball game to own. You are not forced to use analog etc. I love the analog controls, but can understand that everyone is different and have various opinions, skill levels, etc.

Hey, at least you gave it a fair shake. Some guys got lit up their first game and never tried it again...

Bottom line is to have fun, and tweak the game so that day after day, it keeps you coming back for more.

I still have only won two games, (now 2-10).. But every time I fire it up, I know I will have a great time chasing the dragon...

I have the same problem. I can't locate pitches when I have to push up and to the left on the analog. I either push up and to the left (I thought) and it ends up going right or I force the stick too far to the left and completely miss my intended target. It gets really annoying.

Re: Analog pitching: anyone else getting lit up?

I think analog pitching need some fixing, but at least most of these mistakes that are being made are user generated. If you move the analog stick a wrong way, you might give up a bad hit, compared to the old pitching style where it's almost like a 50-50 chance of giving up something bad.

Same problem with pitching and hitting. I naturally push it to the right. I think it has to do with thumb position.

Now I'm just pitching by feel and not worrying about hitting white lines with a descending baseball. It really does capture some of the core mechanics of pitching pretty well - trying to maintain a consitent rhythm and release point, maintaining arm slot, etc.

Moreso than hitting or fielding, I feel like the analog controls are working best for the pitching game.
How do you reduce the pitching meter?

I've been using analog pitching for a few games now and really enjoy it. I actually like the inconsistent nature of pushing up. I think I'm throwing a lot more realistic ball strike ratio because it. Thats just my opinion.

Analog pitching is better for me if I move the CONTROLLER on the upstroke versus using my thumb to direct the RS. What I mean is this.

                            1) hold the controller vertically level as you want to start level.

                            2) bring the RS down to 6 o'clock position

                            3) while bringing the RS down turn the controller OPPOSITE of the aiming point (thus an inside pitch to a righty would turn the controller to the left)

                            4) when ready to release simply move the RS straight up to the relative 12 o'clock position.

With time and practice the amount of turning involved will come naturally. This has helped me a lot. You're going to serve up some bad pitches in real life but overall this helps me control my pitches better.
Thank you to all the men and women who serve in this great nations armed forces.
