No, you don't have to use the Player Vault. I don't, it's messy there! lol.

Just simply create, input audio, save and export, import onto a fake player (or a real player if you're replacing him to get the right hat or whatever). No need for the Vault.

Those who are in game will have their face, but those who aren't will get Jeter'd. What I would do is test it on a scrap roster, if they works, keep the player file, if not, delete them. Then import them into the right teams on the good roster. CAP is still 20 players limited but with exporting, you can load the roster over and over as many times after it reaches the limit (without saving) as many times as you want to get all the exported players out. I had the whole Orioles 40 man roster uploaded without problem. For the rest of the players.. do them the old way, editing and editing till the rosters are filled.

One problem is they need to have a better file system so we could find the names we exported easier instead of going to a file, wait a couple seconds for the name to show up with all those players exported into the system. Still an awesome feature though

Oh...so this only happens to Create-A-Players?....
      Thank the Big Guy!
I thought I was going to have problems with importing guys for the O.S. Full Minors...
      This is correct...only CAP's, right?

      Thanks

Has anyone checked if this has worked for RTTS?

I would think it's only for CAP's unless someone correct me. Haven't tried importing guys from the scea fake players.. in fact I'm gonna try that out now and let you know

EDIT: Good news.. should be fine with the SCEA fake players, just tested a player and came back editable nothing changed. Tried from the default roster to the first SCEA update.. nothing changed, just the way he was in the first place. So yes it must only happen with CAP's. So I think you're good to go (just hope they didn't use CAP for any of them lol)

Make sure you test them on some scrap roster first with first few players and if they came out the way you were hoping, then I think it should be ok.

            Re: Portraits with updating hats

If you create a player and add him to the FA, he will be fine.

However, if you create a player, add to FA and export the player as well, when you load the player, this is when the glitch will occur (only if there is name audio assigned).

So whenever you download a guy from the roster vault, he will either have jeter's head (if the name isn't recognized) or another player's head (depending on name) unless NO NAME AUDIO HAS BEEN ASSIGNED.

This problem is not caused by the roster vault... the glitch occurs when you import a player, wether you DL from the Vault or export and load on your own PS3 does not make a difference.

Just edit the fake players in the rosters and you should be fine, no jeter glitch.

Just tested this out by creating Pujols... guess who's the ROY for the National League...... Albert Pujols! lol. That definitely is a disadvantage for those who wants rendering portraits for the current MLB players.

To me that is the only real downside.

So this method has to be done by creating a player only? For example say I want Aaron Miles to be on the Dodgers without the MLB cap. Could I edit and export a fake C potential minor league player, then import him over the real Aarom Miles? Or would I not get the face just the stats?

Won't work, it will only work if you use the CAP feature. If i'm not mistaken, you might still get the stats (haven't tried with the edit players yet but I'm assuming it will work the same way when it comes to importing), but the face won't be there so you will have to do the face manually.

Yeah I agree. If you could do that but no rookie status comes up.. perfect! Eventhough you will have to redo all the attributes for every player which would be a bit pain in the butt.

Got it, thanks for the info. Does having these created guys with all A potential mess up the CPU roster managemen in any way?

Just wondering for those who are doing this.. who are actually making all the players currently in the game from real portraits into those rendering photos despite the rookie status?

It's been really tempting for me but not too sure. I think the rookie status is killing it but it's still bugging me lol. As much work as it would be reimporting all those players in and re-doing the attributes for every one of them, I still think it's fun!

i wonder if sony will add this to 12, if we scream enough.

                              anyone doing this?

I'll admit, the hat thing is cool.

as far as them all being rookies, the ages are the same so I would assume they retire based on age not by MLB service time?

                              very tempting I'll say

So do we have a list of what 'retired' players we can use that have their actual faces IN game?

I know i saw pedro, and piazza who else?
