Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
yes, in my tests of making offers on day 1, my tests have all kept the "known stars" from being FA's as of spring training.
I think we've narrowed this issue down to the Tender/Non-Tender date, and players that should remain under team control being dumped into the FA pool, skewing everything from how it should be.
And I think it's cool that all of us pretty much in the last set of posts, all came to the same conclusions and ideas for a fix :PYou do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. While I have nothing to do with SCEA....
I do love this game and would go to great lengths to getting it as GREAT as possible.
I'd like to thank you guys for taking the time to do this and help the guys at SCEA out by posting your thoughts on this.
Trust me...they absolutely appreciate and take into account our input and suggestions.
I think we've at least narrowed the problem down a bit and if SCEA can do anything...I'm sure this helps.

Aye Knight, hopefully we've in some way helped them out!

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
TBarnes, a few pages back, I laid out exactly what/how to test this for Hustlin. Unless he changed something, go by that (2 pages back I think...when he asked how to set this great sim up). Seriously, great job HO!
Everyone testing this should read that, so any further testing can be varied off of his...which had favorable results.
We're close to a workaround...or possible patch best case.
Nice work fellas.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 03-17-2011, 11:24 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
Making a quick assumption we've successfully nailed down the issue, the workaround would be 30 team control, and making default/lowball offers to every teams renewable contracts before dec 2nd. The CPU will still do it's thing with bids on FA's and I assume it will exercise it's renew contract function come feb 15th.
I might run another test of just that and see what happens. the only thing I'll interject in on the dummy profile teams is to make default offers to all their contract renewable players. I won't dabble ( but I will watch arbitration offers before and after the exclusive period ends to see if all/some vanish) in arbitration, or any other part of FA for them, and see what happens.
EDIT: I'll run 2 sims, one with budgets on, the other off.Last edited by Neolithic; 03-17-2011, 11:25 PM.You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Neo, Hustlin did a single team chise'.
But yes, I think that would also work for 30 team...the way you just said it.
I'm not certain on the renewables though. I offered to three teams' renewables in my sims. This would be great to know!Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
The first one I'm doing now is 30 team control, everything set to Auto in both my profile and dummy profile, It seems the CPU tends to do everything on cutoff day. It didn't offer any arbitration offers until the deadline day to do so, then it did it for what looks like most everyone it could offer it to. It did make offers to players in the exclisive period, some even signing new deals before the period ended. I'm at Dec 2 right now, and it has made offers to 90% of the contract renewable guys, but there is still players on every team taht are renewable and have A/B potential with no offers yet, so I'm making offers to all of them, and see waht the AI does come february. You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)
I'll post my first offseason results when I finish it up here shortly. going through 2014 or 2015 will probably take me a while, as it takes about 20 minutes or so to go through every team and make the offers to everyone. On the plus, if the results show promise after this offseason, I can sim straight away to dec 2 and not look as hard at arbitration offers, and such, once I know they are working right. You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun.
