Re: 2013 Franchise Issue Explained (With Pics)

ok, just a complete shot in the dark here......but could the problem possibly have something to do with simming blocks of days at a time? Maybe we need to test this simming one day at a time (in the offseason)....Maybe simming blocks at a time messes with the CPU AI

    Just a thought, it's worth a try

Man I haven't followed this thread at all, actually been out of town for a while and I come back to find this. I'm having a really hard time following along with the franchise fix stuff. I gave it by best shot last year and it looks like I'll have to try it again. If the devs of this game have 365 days to make the correct changes, stuff I'm sure they knew about then why is it not fixed? It must be tougher than one would think to work out a kink in the armor. Is there any word on a fix to this or is going to be another year of sit and wait?

For now, we just have to be patient.

Man, I hope this gets straightened out. Very frustrating. Too many good players sign short deals too. Pujols did a two year deal... Not realistic.

Just sort of stumbled upon something that could be creating an issue.

I was using the Tigers, and simmed to the offseason (using 30 team control, everything set to auto except for the Tigers)

In the first day of the offseason, I made arbitration offers to Magglio Ordonez, and Jose Valverde, and made offers to all my "contract renewable" players.

After I simmed to Nov 1 (first day of Free Agency period) I noticed that Valverde had an offer from Kansas City. So, I clicked on him to make a better offer, and I noticed that I could offer arbitration again.

It seems that if you make an Arbitration offer BEFORE the free agency period, to a potential MLB free agent the CPU clears this on the first day of FA....

Do you have time to fully test this until the start of 2014?

Doing anything tonight??? It could take a while.

No, I don't.....but, it makes me wonder.....if part of the problem is that the CPU teams "think" they have made arbitration offers, and contract offers to the "contract renewable" players, and when the Free Agency period actually begins, these offers are rescinded, but the CPU still operates as if these offers stuck....

I'm not sure I'd even fully know how too...

30-Team control where you have one profile on the Tigers (manual trades, etc) and a separate profile for the other 29 (auto trades, contracts, etc).

                  Or single team control?

Could you go into as much detail as you have time for?

The devs said they fixed it but it somehow cropped up again. Of course that is just their word but I tend to trust them. They said they are looking into it so just be patient at this point is the best we can offer. It's probably very hard to figure out and they've been working constantly trying to fix other bugs and such. TBH, bigger bugs that affect onfield gameplay and such will likely be worked on first as these are more important to more people than this problem is. Unless they have different teams for franchise issues and then ingame issues.
                    What would Doc do?

30 team control. My profile for the Tigers, everything set to MANUAL.
I created a profile called "no profile" and assigned it to all the other teams. Set everything to "AUTO" except for training, which I left manual.

When I simmed the season,I clicked "ok" or "no"when it would ask me if I wanted to stop simming.

In the offseason, I made all my offers, then simmed ONE DAY AT A TIME, instead of blocks of days at a time. When I got to Nov. 1st (start of free agency period) I noticed that KC made the offer to Valverde, and that it still said "TYPE A" under status. I clicked on him to make a better offer, and noticed I could offer arbitration again (which I did) when I left that screen, under status, it now said "Arbitration offered"

Makes me wonder if these offers aren't sticking......kinda sorta like the trade offers weren't sticking after loading a saved game last year before the patch

i find this thread fascinating. you guys are doing all this testing and fact finding for SCEA. you do realize Russell stated several WEEKS ago when asked about the "2013 bug", he replied, "whats the 2013 bug?"

granted, he may know it as another name, but it doesnt appear to be very high on the list of things that need to get done at san diego studios.

i agree it is a problem, but until we get feedback from someone at SCEA that they are aware and working on the problem, these threads wont help, being that is is about the 43 one Ive seen on this topic.

Would you suggest, to test, someone to wait until Nov 1, simming one day at a time...then going to all teams, and then offer contract renewals and arbitration to all eligible players?...For all years up to 2014? Just as a test? Is that what you're saying.

Low ball offers, or legit offers?

Except we did get a post from one of the devs stating that they are looking at it. It was in the original Franchise Issues thread.

However I agree. SCEA is trying to make as many people as happy as possible so they can make as much money as possible. That means focusing resources on bigger issues. Most people aren't like us on OS, they probably don't even touch franchise mode and only do play now and maybe some RTTS. Franchise mode is really involved and really only for hardcore players aka the minority of players.

Something like that....I mean, the system is messed up somehow....the key is trying to pinpoint exactly where, and what, so the guys at SCEA can hopefully fix the problem. I guess a test that way would work.....simming the offseason one day at a time....even if you make contract offers and arbitration offers to one of the AUTO controlled teams, and see if any of those players pop up in Free Agency. If not, then we can assume that the CPU teams THINK they have made offers to them, but they aren't registering, and that is why these prospects are making it to FA.
