I agree 100% with your assessment. The FAs I am talking about are in the FA pool after Spring Training starts.

They are also nearly all starters:

There are a few players who also signed cheap deals in Feb so they arent FA in Spring Training, but they didnt get signed realistically.

For example, San Diego pulled an amazing offseason by signing Pujols and Zimmerman late in Feb for a total of 5M over 1 yr.

I do not mean this as a knock on SCEA, at all, but I am not holding my breath on a fix for the Franchise FA issues this year. I am just being realistic with myself when I express this.

I'm starting to agree with you and I don't think it's because they don't want to fix it, I just think it is harder than they even realized. I broke down the other day and created a 30 team franchise with instant trades off. I'd rather just do a single team franchise but I'll just run a realistic franchise myself if they can't get it fixed.

I still left my single franchise open so if they get it fixed I'll go back to it but I'm not expecting it.

Can someone please check if the Mets' batting helmet colors have been fixed?

No! , checked home whites only, and the Home Uni's still had blue under garments with black helmets while batting.

Wow, if the free agent glitch was worked on and yet is still broken it must be a hard bug to figure out. If it was worked on maybe it should of been tested more before release.

I have done it and it isn't really all that bad. Some will take more control than this, but all you have to do is play with 30 team control and just make sure you offer the young guys in the off-season.

On the first day of the off-season go to each team and offer a minuscule contract to any player with "contract renewable" next to their name, or any young guy who doesn't have that next to his name, but has little to no service time.

They will usually not accept the 400K (or less) offer, but the CPU will renew them when the time comes.

That seems to pretty much take care of the issue. Probably takes an hour, tops, to do, and you just do it each off season.

Offseason probably is where you are going to have to spend a lot of time making sure things are done correctly.

It took me about 20-30 minutes the other night to set it up. Lineups aren't that out of whack this year so you don't have to worry about that unless you want to. What I did was sign Vlad to the Orioles and then took care of some of my preseason franchise preferences for my team and started my season. I have trades for the CPU set to manual and I'll probably leave it that way until mid June. Then I'll change it to auto and check pending trades to make sure the trades are fair and realistic. I have everything else set to auto.

I may not even get to the offseason as slow as I play, lol. Anyway I'm going to go and enjoy the game and not worry about it anymore.

The only thing that gives me a sliver of hope, or makes me a fool for believing it in the first place, is that they said they had a fix for this earlier and somehow it didn;t make into the final build or something.

I dont know whats going to happen, but 30 team control, again, is not palatable for me this year I am afraid.

It was supposedly fixed before the game was released I guess it's harder to implement it into the game via patch than it us when they still had the entire game open for adjusting

Well I guess we'll just have to wait to see the list of fixes from this patch and hopefully the free agent glitch is not on the list since it is still broken and they can take more time to get it right.
