Cycles are tough to get especially when trying to get a triple. I've gotten lots of chances to get the cycle but that damn triple.

No hitters are not a easy thing to do trust me my favorite team have to pitch a No-No in their 40+ year history. As for shut outs, like shifty_b said pitch for contact especially in the later innings. Also when in a pitching battle make them chase, if you walk the batter oh well, its better than constantly draining stamina in a long at bat.

Completely frustrating. I pick my spots and setup hitters to chase/strikeout, etc.

Guys how are you getting no hitters or shutouts? I can't do it.
Please I havent pitched a shut out or a no-no in years. I dont even care about trying to do it.

I almost had a no-hitter. Actually, i think it was a perfect game as i had no walks and had no men on base until the 7th.

Regardless, 2 men down in the 7th and still a good amount of pitches left in my pitcher so i felt good. Then, the game turned into MLB: Bush League 2011.

Seriously, the other team bunted with 2 down just to get a man on base. I was flippin furious, since i didnt expect it in a 0-2 count, and low and behold, the runner made it.

Finished the game with that ONE hit, and a walk which i served up in the 9th. Still irks me as i havent come close ( 4 hit shutout or so ) since and doubt i will.

OH well. At least the game is ingenuitive and realistic. I see some teams bunting to break up a perfect, but i thought it was like some sort of unwritten rule.

I allowed 7 runs against the Mariners, but pitched a shutout against the heavy hitting White Sox... Makes no sense, but with Coke on the mound, I'm pitching an entirely different game. Plus I'm starting to love the sinker.

I almost had another Perfect Game. This time as Johan opening day vs the Marlins. But Omar Infante barely got the ball past Wright for a 1-out single. Got the 1-hit shutout at least.

On veteran hitting & pitching. I'm not very skilled at this game.

4-0 Opening Day in my Reds franchise against the Brewers, at this rate I will end up with 162 shutouts on the season

I pitched a combined shutout in game 2 of my franchise. Does that count?

7 shutout innings from Burnett. 8th: Soriano...9th: Mo.

Just pitched my first ever no-hitter with Tommy Hanson against the Dodgers in my Franchise. I faced the minimum. Walked a batter in the 2nd but he was erased by a double play. Not a "perfect game" but as close as you can get i suppose.

                    His line was
                    9 in
                    0 hits
                    1 walk
                    3 k's
                    27 batters faced
                    103 total pitches

I also hit for the cycle with Martin Prado in the third or fourth game of the season. Its been a magical year for the 13-4 Braves. lol

Re: I cannot get a no-no or a shutout to save my life

I know discussing this on this board is thought of as some kind of insult on someone's religion but there are times in this game where I swear there is some kind of logic to keep at least most of these games close. Just today I was up 8-0 and my starter was mowing down the other team's batters all of a sudden they start smacking everything that's thrown for hard liners and a few homeruns in the mix and one double that banged off the left centerfield wall by the opposing team's pitcher, even after making changes to the pitcher and puting in my best relief pitcher I ended up losing 10-9, I know that these type of games do happen but not as often as they do on The Show, I love the game but it just seems to happen more than it should. It doesn't always work in favor of the computer either because I swear that I have gotten the benefit of this too, for some odd reason it seems to get easier to hit no matter who I'm hitting against when I fall behind, so my theory is if you want to attempt to pitch a no hitter than try not to get too far ahead 1-0 or 2-0 you might stand a better chance getting that no-no.

I've pitched 2 shutouts since owning the game.

                        Both scores were 7-0.

                        There's NO COMEBACK LOGIC.
