Of course that won't help when we get back to on-line games but it's better then nothing
Complete opposite on my end, had the message appear quite often prior to patch 1.16 and now have not encountered the problem

I don't know how bad it was last year, but it looks like this is the same problem, so it might be easy for them to fix though. At least they probably know how to fix it. Perhaps just a matter of resources they can put in continuing fixing bugs..

It reappeared in this year's game probably because when they fixed it for '10, they already were starting off '11 with an older code base... who knows.
They will announce when the put out the final patch. My memory is the final patch last year was around the third week of May. With major problems like the game locking on a mound visit there will be another patch.

A dream come true for me would be to fix manage mode but I realize that probably won't happen this year.

I see the "Pitcher Warm" thing almost every game, but I've only seen it "stuck" there once in about 75 games. Every other time a Pause/Resume cycle has fixed it (or contact by the batter on the next pitch).

Yes, you only need to be connected to the internet. You don't need to be logged into to the PSN.

As soon as you start the game you should be prompted to leave and download the patch.

Is anybody else finding it a lot harder to bunt for a hit successfully? The pitcher fields like 90% of my bunts now, even if they are down the line.

I think pitchers field more ball in general (mentioned in the fix list), so that must be its side effect.

Are we sure real errors are not counting the run as earned? I'll admit, I just played my first game post patch last night. In 5th inning, O's had guy on first with two outs. They hit a groundball to my second basemen, I overthrew first (damn you analog throwing) and the runners went to 2nd and 3rd. With no error, the inning is over. The next batter singled home a runner. It charged David Price with an Earned Run, but it should not have been earned.

I have done zero testing and have had 0 other errors, just wondering if it was a fluke

Let's not complicate the issue here. The ER issue we've been discussing is for the catcher dropping ball four kind, not all ERs in general.

What you saw, IRL Price shouldn't get an ER. Not sure the game handles it properly pre or post patch, but that should be a different bug report.

How did the guy on first get on initially? Wouldn't he be considered an earned run if he got on first legitimately?

Touche, sir, touche. I just miss being able to abuse bunting I guess. I'll Never forget the time I hit a walk-off bunt with 2 strikes and 2 outs...

Shouldn't be...all runs after there are 2 outs should be unearned in that example. (Because the inning should have been over already).

Is that automatic though? I thought there always is some leeway for scorers as to how to interpret what should be earned/unearned, especially in this sort of situations.

Nope. If an error prolonged the inning, all runs scored thereafter are unearned runs, regardless of how they are obtained. In addition:

I think the biggest gameplay issue that needs to be addressed in this game is definitely how things are scored, errors in particular, as I'm still seeing plays that should have been called errors, and plays that should not have been.
