Still playing. However, won't be when WWE '12 comes out. That'll take up all my PS3 time.Comment

Re: Who is Still Playing??
This is the only game I'm playing on PS3 at the moment. I picked up both NCAA 2012 and Madden 2012, but both games are just absolutely horrible. I guess I shouldn't expect any less from EA. After a few months of frustration really trying to enjoy those two games I gave up and went back to playing my RTTS pitcher.Ducks, Mariners, Blazers, Lillard, Favre, Iverson, Griffey, Hernandez, Hawks, Wilson,
My Mariners dynasty!

Re: Who is Still Playing??
I bought my PS3 for the sole purpose of MLB the Show. And like you I guarantee I'll be buying another one when this one dies. I actually almost bought one Friday for a back-up just in case mine died so I wouldn't be without The Show!Comment

Re: Who is Still Playing??
My PS3 went bad, optical drive, after around 4 months. I wasn't going to be "rained out" for weeks so I bought another one. Now I don't have to worry if new one goes bad. Just like with data, a good idea to have a backup. ;-)Comment

Re: Who is Still Playing??
To me what's amazing about the Show is its replay value... I still enjoy playing as much as I did when I first got it. Now I have enjoyed baseball with or without video gaming over the years but I think the devs are doing a great job of reproducing the feeling of never quite mastering the difficult part of baseball... Being struck out with a great pitch after set up perfectly... Drawing a walk on a tough, border line pitch... Offset by timing... timing a change perfectly... Turning on a high fastball to hit it over the fense... It's all great feeling and satisfying, win or lose. I feel challenged all the time.Comment

Re: Who is Still Playing??
That's all well and good, but there are also times when it's extremely frustrating, such as when I use the power button with a good hitter like Matt Kemp, timing perfect in his hot zone on a Ubaldo Jimenez 98 mph fastball and miss the pitch! Sometimes this happens and pitch info shows the batter looking in a different area, like one of his cold spots! I've also seen it happen with batter looking for the pitch same area as where the pitch was thrown! That last one happened with Matt Kemp.
But I'm a sim style player, so I don't get frustrated by not having the total control over the actions and results like that... so that's my bias. I actually find it quite amazing a lot of guys with different skill levels produce stats/results in this game that come out pretty close to real life numbers. The devs must know what they are doing there...Comment

Re: Who is Still Playing??
I hear you and a lot of others, but that's sometimes necessary to make the game play like it's a sim... Hitting in a video game is substantially easier than real life, so some guys can master things incredibly well. But in order to produce "realistic" results that are in line with MLB, even the best hitters must fail 7 - 6 times out of 10, even if your stick skills are good enough to yield great results 6 out of 10...
