I had a list that I just happened to be keeping in my phone:

    - more stat pop-ups
    - player bios pop-ups
    - Split screen views (pitcher and batter)
    - multiple screen lookins (manager, bullpen, base coaches)
    - water spouts at certain stadiums (at&t, coors, comerica) for homeruns/wins
    - animation for catcher asking for new ball after pitch in the dirt.
    - stat popups (pitcher vs. batter, player vs. opp, season vs. postseason)
    - in-game highlights (key outs/hits)
    - smaller score graphic ("TS Sports Network")
    - "live audio" during replays
    - post game cameras, "interviews"
    - "scoring alert" updates on ticker

      Hitting:

I really like analog hitting but I can't get used to having to swing up and in for inside pitches and up and out for outside. Just plain back and up would do just fine for me

Let us see the flight of the ball off the bat for a fraction of a second before switching to field view.

Make the controller rumble when you hit the ball and really rattle when you hit a bad foulball like your hands would feel in real life!

Pitch history colours are still way off!
Please finally fix this because I use this feature intensively. And while you guys are at it please assign the R2 or L2 button back again to bring this up and not just only available with guess pitch on. It was perfect in '09.

      Fielding:

      Calling up/off the cut-off man.

Different dive animations and make it a little bit easier to make diving plays in the outfield like you did with wall catches last years.

When an infielder catches a line drive when its 2 outs he still reacts/stands as if he might have to make a play, not necessary.

I know collision detection ain't gonna happen but please get rid of tags through players. When a game looks this good it hurts everytime I see this happen.

Put in some random player screams like "I GOT IT" "MINE" or "GOING!"

      Baserunning:

Give us all the controll for sliding.
If I want to make a headfirst into homeplate while the ball is still rolling to the fence I want to be able to!

Different collisions at the plate and give us some control wether you as a catcher is going to hold on or lose the ball...makes it even more exciting!

Even if it doesn't belong here; pleaaaase let us save exhibition games!

        Re: Gameplay/Presentation for MLB12

        - Like Home Run Derby mode (or like you see in real life), it would be nice to have just one broadcast fielding camera angle. This means no different shots based on where the ball is hit (left side, middle, right side). Also, like the HRD cam, it wouldn't hurt for it to be lifted off the ground a little bit more. Not all of our games are being played at Comerica Park, you know.

        - It would be cool if this game had good recognition of where the sun was in every stadium, so fly balls would be more difficult to play if they went in the sun. If this were to be implemented, it would simply increase the fielding region when it's in the sun. This would give players with eye black, sunglasses, or those who shade the sun with their glove (don't think this is particularly in the game though lol) some more benefits than just being there aesthetically.

        - This pertained a bit more to the MLB 2K series with their Inside Edge statistics, but I think it would be cool if we could sometimes use mound visits to peek at the next three hitters and their in-depth statistical analysis when they come up to the plate. So like, the pitching coach is helping the user roll through how we should sequence our pitches against the next few hitters.

        - For fielding, I'm almost ready to do away with a throwing power meter. I wouldn't mind a timing meter in itself, but I think the game can be pretty good at recognizing when we want to throw it harder or softer. One thing that would be cool, though, is if they applied directional momentum into the game. So, if we're pointing the left-analog stick to the right as we throw to first, our forward momentum will give us more power anyway. This would also make us think about a ground ball into the 5.5 hole where the shortstop has to backhand the ball and make a throw... do we first plant and throw off our back foot, or do we "Jeter" the play and make a fadeaway throw? That's where we have ultimate power of our players (and it would be cool if we had separate ratings for each kind of play). This would also help for the outfield, so we don't always have to pre-load any sort of crow hop throw that we make. We simply just have to aim at the bag with it.

Kudos. This would especially be good when pitching.

To add onto this, you know how players say (which is true) that when you truly connect on a ball, you don't even feel it? Well, how great would home runs feel, knowing that your controller didn't even vibrate when you made contact?

        Calling up/off the cut-off man.
I know the devs have wanted this, and have had a hard time with it given their system... but this is definitely a wanted feature from the masses.

Put in some random player screams like "I GOT IT" "MINE" or "GOING!"
This statement kind of got me thinking of another idea. MLB 2K6 implemented a "call off" feature, which I thought was pretty good in terms of giving the user more control of what happens. I would like to see this put in a game again.

In other words, if there is a fly ball in the gap and you're controlling the center fielder, the right fielder would continue going after it as well, unless you call him off. Of course, that game also had collision detection, which might be necessary for such a feature to exist anyway.

          Re: Gameplay/Presentation for MLB12

Core Gameplay over the last 3 years has been generally too similar in feel and look. I do understand and acknowledge there have been improvements. However, the gameplay, franchise and experience remains very "Too Similar" feeling from MLB 09, 10 and 11. I just popped all 3 in last night to validate this.

What I suggest the design team really focus on for this year is to really elevate the best fundamentally playing baseball video game to a baseball video game that now really also captures more of the little things along with more dynamics and variability of the sport so each game feels even more organic.

For example, take a game like Pro Evolution Soccer 12. Its basically a sport of driving the ball up and down a field for 90 mins trying to put it in a goal. However, because of the amazing depth and creativity the design team has injected into the player attributes, individuality, style, skill sets and variety of tactics, No single game ever feels the same and the variety in gameplay experiences you have change so dramatically from one match to the next!

MLB the Show, is hands down the most fundamentally accurate baseball game ever designed IMO. It's animations and tight fluid control are symmetrical genious BUT at the same time, I feel the gameplay needs to take that next step to create a more dynamic game to game experience for the end user (player)

Here are some of my ideas to achieve this (many which may have already been mentioned):

          MLB 12 Priorities should be:

          Increase Dynamic Gameplay
          ---------------------------

-add CPU random mental mistakes (baserunning, misjudging flyballs, two fielders letting it drop between them, missing the obvious play to the right base, etc) Basically add mental mistakes/errors, in addition to the physical errors we now see

-Possible Added Focus or Form rating that could influence/weigh the above

-Dynamic Manager Styles with sliders for each manager

-Signs from the Dugout for Human Player (Now players can follow an AI Manager's gameplan rather than just doing whatever in each situation. Similar to Madden's Gameplan feature. Of course it can be toggled On/Off as an option)

-Introduce variable oddities from time to time. (An outfielder stumbling, a baserunner getting hit by a line drive or oversliding a base, etc)

-Add more close play dynamics on base slides (Fielder reaching up high then slap tagging, more variety in catching then tagging, slides etc)

          -AI pickles, rundowns etc

-Introduce colliding player models that have real interaction and physics when contact is made

-Add more Ratings/Attributes to further define a player's individuality (PES does a tremendous job at this)

-More Variety of fielding animations (more variety in reaching, diving, missing, off the glove, off balance, reaching in the hole, stumbling, etc)

-Player specific Fielding animations (some players have different fielding styles)

          Increase Post Season Atmosphere
          ---------------------------------

-Bring in another color man to work along side Matt or replace the 3 man team with a Post Season team to represent an elevated or different style of coverage for the Post Season

-Increase the team specific analysis of the post season teams

-Real specific Keys to Victory commentary (relevant comments about teams based on specific stats and numbers posted during the regular season)

-Better Stat Overlays that display key team/player performances in appropriate situations (Tigers are 79-0 when leading after 7 innings this year, Chase Utley is batting .302 with men in scoring pos this season, etc)

          -Playoff updates from other games

-Quick Game Breaks that will cut to another game to show how they just scored or got a big out late in the game. (NHL 95 had a feature like this years ago)

-Different Stadium panning Music!..Arggg cant stand the current jingle

-Blimp View of the stadium before a playoff game with commentary. More panning stadium shots

-More stat screen overlays and comparisons that you wouldnt get during the regular season.

Theres more but thats all I can think of off the top of my head

Can we see the outside of the stadium for once? It would be a HUGE add-on for this game. How about some "blimp" like shots? Come on, how about giving us a new way of seeing the stadium. It would add to the atmosphere I believe too. Seeing outside of parks, stadiums, etc I feel we should have been seeing in MLB 10.

People don't seem to bring it up, so I guess I might as well. There is little to know swing variation in MLB The Show. Bautista's swing looks like Braun's swing. Victorino's swing looks like Utley's swing. Even if they just had like 9 or 10 different swing variations I'd be happy.

Simple thing: fixing the Hot Zone to be relative to pitcher's view.

Mainly I hope for the following things to be fixed that have bothered me for years are finally fixed.

                    1. The glitch where you go to the bullpen to warm up a pitcher and it asks you to replace the opposing teams pitcher and you can't leave the screen.

                    2. The fact once you have no more hitters on your bench you can not change positions of your fielders. (I've used my last hitter to bat for a pitcher and then did a double switch with the pitcher, but wanted to move the hitter to a position he can play and move a utility player into the position he was assigned to.)

                    3. When randomly it stops showing the Strikes/Balls/Outs and just keeps the pitcher warm writing up there even after you've brought in or sat down the warmed up pitcher.

                    4. The glitch where the runners try to steal home without you pressing any buttons to have them do so.

                              - More rain, stronger winds and cooler air, I would like to play in the snow at least once during the early part of season and into October's Playoffs.

-Dynamic weather with changes to atmosphere from time to time. Sunshine to rain and wind to sparkling sunlight again!
