Re: Community Day - GAMEPLAY question and answer

I skipped out on 11, just got it to try out, but hard to find time with Skyrim. I was wondering if the cpu better manages its bullpen now? Are there more lefty v lefty matchups, using their full bullpen in a given game if situation dictates it, using more then the same reliever(s) no matter the score in a game during a series, etc.

Also, has reliever fatigue been addressed at all since mlb 10? I know there is a slider, but fatigue ratings had to be edited to make things realistic for guys in the bullpen. Just lowering the slider to 0 never seemed to be enough.

Perhaps I am wrong, just looking for more opinion from those who have played it more and have better knowledge. Thanks!

There are two warm up options now.
There is the regular get up and get ready option...
Then there is one that gets a guy ready....slower....but you can leave him up and throwing and he will remain warm without getting tired.
One for one tosses with the pitcher in the game.

That's pretty nifty. I'm really bad at managing my bullpen, and can't tell you how many times I've forgotten about guys I had warming up, only to find them with half their stamina drained.

Are there any new news on weather this year? Will it rain more often or was it left untouched?

I was told they increased the factor to have it rain.

Will we have the option to change the weather for games at rogers centre? I know we can't have closed roof, but at least allow us to have sunny, partly cloudy, overcast games.

I guarantee you not this year. That would require all new lighting effects most likely.

Next year I would love more weather options too, and more control over my baserunner during pick-off attempts. I can dream right?

How would it require new lighting? It'd be same lighting as other stadiums we can adjust the weather for

Naturally, you just create Roy Hobbs and put him on the Jays... guaranteed thunderstorm w/ lightning.

I have a question and don't have a clue if it's been asked in this thread or not but here goes. Have the umpires finally been updated to wear cold weather gear? I was always disappointed that it could be really cold and all the players and fans are all dressed up in cold gear but the umpires are dressed like it's 90 degrees.

At least they'd have an excuse for blown calls.

If you play a five inning game does the cpu treat it like a five inning game? Do they sub their players when needed...or is it the same as it always has been where they play as its a normal 9 inning game?

I was wondering if home/road splits were used when writing the gameplay logic in the game? Like for some players or teams that do better at home or on the road and that would be reflected in the game?

I know the new ball physics have been mentioned a ton, but can anyone cite some specific examples that make it different from MLB 11? We've seen the ball hitting the pitching rubber and base examples, but I am more curious as to how the ball reacts in the air and ground compared to the physics model used in MLB 11. I admit I haven't been following the threads that closely so I'm sure these sorts of comments exist somewhere on the boards.

Any community day members or people who have read such comments can give an example of how the ball reacted in a situation in MLB 11 and how it now reacts in MLB 12. For example what the difference is in a hard hit grounder to short. How does that same situation occur in the new physics model? With no gameplay videos out yet I am really curious as to how the physics model will play this year.

You can either search this thread and/or wait for the gameplay video that is coming soon, next week in fact. Seeing is worth about 12,235,231 words.
