Re: Community Day - GRAPHICS & SOUND - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
I would really like to place the camera for Batting, Pitching and Fielding in the upper deck behind Home Plate and have it locked there in real time. It would make it look like you are actually sitting at the ball park like in real life and you can watch the whole game play out in real time. Now a long with this camera view you could have an "option" for no Replays or any presentation stuff just like how you would not see them if you were at the ball park. And it would also give you a wonderfull view of the ball park. This view would be great for the guys who like doing CPU VS CPU
And you could even go one step further and allow us to place the camera anywhere in the ball park and lock it in.
You could even name it "FAN CAMERA" Mode
Please tell Sony to add this next year
I will also put this in my wishlist for MLB 13 The Show.Attached FilesLast edited by tnixen; 01-20-2012, 11:57 AM.Comment

Re: Community Day - GRAPHICS & SOUND - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
Those Sound of the show bug fixes sound very nice.
I take it this means for example the song playing during the 7th inning stretch will no longer cut off the PA announcer from announcing the lead off batter? Or samething when a batter hits a Home Run and your Home Run music plays it to will now not cut off the PA announcer announcing the next batter?Last edited by tnixen; 01-20-2012, 09:03 AM.Comment

This would be awesome.
Even if they can't give us complete freedom with the camera, if they could have even 3,4 or 5 pre-made camera locations in different sections...
I mean, this game is blurring the boundaries of a real game anyway.. Let us have the option to watch it like one.

Barnes, Knight and I were actually talking about it the day before last (since Barnes mentioned he was color blind). Do not know if he bright it up to Ramone or not.
But I will shoot Ramone and email and let him know the concerns. As of right now I believe it is still the same.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Doing knew fielding cameras is a huge task. There is a lot involved due to the ball tracking. And all the variables in play it has to take into account. Also the cameras are manually done.
Not to say it isn't on their list. But it takes a lot of time to do just one more. Let alone 4-5 more.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Community Day - GRAPHICS & SOUND - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
That looks like a chain to me. I highly doubt the MLB would tell Sony no, but tell 2K yes. It doesnt make any sense at all for the MLB to not "allow" things like that in a game, if they didnt like them they would ban them from being worn in real life as well.Ah, I see. The MLB 2k12 photos sparked the question. The below photo of Verlander shows what looks like a chain around his neck. It may possibly be undershirt stitching, I'm not positive on it being a chain. If it is a chain, however, would that have something to do with 2k having the 3rd party rights to MLB? I'm not really too familiar with all of the legal stuff involved in video game production.Comment

Re: Community Day - GRAPHICS & SOUND - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
Wish it was that simple....for example:
2K had to pay a lot of money for that exclusive liscense, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some details that they are able to get exclusively, even from SCEA, because of that fact.f
Also, mlb allows all the teams to wear the 9/11 and 4th of July hats in real life. But at least as of last year, they wouldn't allow SCEA to put them in the game...don't know why but rules are rules"Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

Re: Community Day - GRAPHICS & SOUND - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
EN/Slab--EN,
First, thanks for your help on our posts. I am actually a "sounds" freak and really love what they have put in the game already...but I would have them look into the folllowing...
Questions for them....
1) I think it might have been asked already, but what is the total amount of tracks and chants/yells they are allowing us this year?
2) Will they give us enough tracks this year to not have to use the song editor (do we have still cut them in 3's?)
3) Can you get a list of all the Sounds of The Show slots for this year?
4) What is new to the Sounds of The Show this year?
Also here are some simple bugs to address....
1) Away Pitcher slot. Away Pitcher being taken out---songs never played
2) Inning and Relief Pitcher transitions. Essentially, stop the in-between innings song and play the relief pitcher song when he enters the game in the beginning of an inning.
Relief pitcher song never played if you put him in the game in the beginning of the inning (it would still play your in-between innings song). That sucks when you have a closer come into the 9th and it is still playing an in-between innings song when Enter Sandman or Hells Bells should have been played.
3) Caught Stealing slot. The Caught Stealing song would play everytime the runner was going no matter what. When the runner was going....if there was a foul ball, pop-up, or whatever the song would still play.
4) Base Hit slot. Quite simply, there was a long delay between when the base hit happenend and the song played.
Thanks so much!
Curious if you found any answers to these questions while you were out there....
Thanks!Comment

I believe nothing has changed for Sounds of the Show this year as far as slots and amount of music.
It is a memory issue. To add to that, they must take from somewhere else. And at this point that can not happen.
They did do bug fixes however.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Community Day - GRAPHICS & SOUND - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
I wish they could allow you to turn off the PA Announcer for some players and leave him on for everyone else. This would come in handy when you use the "Walk up music with PA Announcer MP3's" for the sound slot for some players.
The way it currently is you either hear 2 PA Announcers or not any at all depending if you are using a Walk up music with PA Announcer MP3 for a player or not.
Did you ask Sony about this?
ThanksLast edited by tnixen; 01-21-2012, 01:13 PM.Comment

Re: Community Day - GRAPHICS & SOUND - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
Speaking of the PA Announcer by chance did Sony bring in a new PA Announcer this year? Or is it still the same guy they have been using for like ever?
I am kind of hoping for a new PA Announcer. We need a fresh voice in the stadiums
