    Re: Community Day - GRAPHICS & SOUND - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries

Are there new commentators for this years game(or at least a wider variety of what the commentators say)?

Do the crowd cheers/jeers die down after the pitcher throws the ball?(Last year, it didn't die down,so you'd hear random chants even after the ball gets hit)

Is there an sounds of the show option for "between inning" sounds for extra innings(last year just went from innings 1-9,so after the 9th inning, we'd hear the default game music again)

Game must be good if there's a thread to express what you didn't really like from last years game and I can't even come up with a good list!

Crowd Audio.....are they *smarter*...(not nec louder...rarely is the crowd loud as often as it is in the show series.).....look for this EN (i know you will my Red Sox brother lol)...

Fenway Park......Sox/Yanks......see how crowd reacts to the Sox turning a double play in the mid-late innings.....currently, there is barely any reaction from the crowd if the sox have no out then turn a DP on the yanks.
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

To further elaborate on the questions about the crowd being smarter, will they be more situation-appropriate now?

          For example:

          1. Will they be less likely to get on their feet and roar on a full count in the first inning? Or when the home team has runners in scoring position in the first inning, etc? This always happened last year and is not realistic, not for early-game situations.

          2. Will the crowd react more appropriately to things such as a double into the gap, an RBI single, etc? Many times last year there was no reaction at all to such a thing.

          3. Will the crowd swell when a long fly ball is hit and then roar when it goes over the fence for a HR? Last year they would just cheer all of a sudden when the ball left the park. Likewise, it would be great if they swell and then sigh in frustration/relief (depending on situation) when the ball is caught on the warning track. That would be amazing. In other words, don't tie the crowd reaction to the result, tie it to the trajectory of the ball.

This could be further expanded to shots down the line that land just fair or just foul, and have the crowd react appropriately. Or a hard-hit ball to the gap that looks to be extra bases, but an outfielder makes a spectacular play. Have the crowd react as all of these things happen...swell as the ball travels toward the gap...erupt/sigh when a great play is made and the hitter is robbed of extra bases.

          4. Will the crowd sound quieter during games with lower attendance?

          5. Was any work done to make the crowd sound more realistic aside from tuning the things above (new audio recordings)?

This would make the homerun suspense so much better!

I think what you mean is can we have his music play when he warms up as the starter? I liked having the pre-game music myself but it only played up until the SP started throwing his warmup pitches. We have Relief Entrance but it only plays if he enters the game as such - can we have that play for SPs when they start warming up (have pregame play up to that point)?

Also, will there be MORE sound slots and/or playlist slots?

I would like to know if they implemented custom stadium sounds for Double Plays, Clutch Hits, and more options for Home Run Sounds

                thanks

Yeah sorry for being unclear. I know we can edited SP at bat music. I meant while he is warming up before the game (only if you have warm up pitches turned on). Instead of the generic music that plays...

This will be asked about sound slots.

But I do know it is a struggle between memory. To add more to one thing in the sound department, robs from somewhere else in the game engine.

Memory sadly is the largest bottleneck on consoles.

A graphics question so here goes : One request I do have for the game is for my cleveland indians and their park progressive field in cleveland ohio to have the correct championship banners on the upper deck in right field they are not in left field anymore please fix that for the game and also please add the batter's eye bar that's in right center field near the tribe's bullpen.

Borrowed these pictures from perfect zero's post in the uniform thread.

the game pic vs. real life pic of kinsler shows that things are way off from what they should look like as far as swings go. those two pics are a great comparison piece. have things been fixed this year to make swings look more like the real life kinsler pic?

That second picture of real life looks like he was jammed, and not a follow-through for a good swing so it might not be a normal case.

Although it's already been mentioned, I would like to reiterate the question on whether the pitch history colors have been fixed for MLB 12?

I remember that at last year's community day someone reported that this had been fixed, but after getting the game home and checking this right away, sadly nothing had changed. I know that not everyone seems to have a problem with this for some reason, but many still do (pitch colors too dark to distinguish the different pitch types when checking which pitches have already been thrown during an AB). I recently replaced my 2006 60" Sony SXRD with a new 2011 Samsung 60" LED (3D Smart TV) and still have the same issue with MLB 11 (as well as MLB 10, if I remember right everything was fine in previous versions). I even checked this on a 24" Insignia (1080p LED) and had the same problem, I think it's pretty safe to say it's not an issue with the TV at this point. I even had to replace my PS3 back in June because my launch model died on me, but still had the same problem with my new PS3 slim. My PS3 video signal is sent directly to the TV via an HDMI cable (latest 3D capable version) with audio sent to my receiver via an optical (toslink) cable.

true, he may have been jammed a bit (though it looks like a normal kinsler swing to me), but if you watch a kinsler homerun swing and compare it to a kinsler homerun swing in the game you will see that the comparison still holds true. here is another pic to go by, you can tell it looks nothing like the in game pic

Good point. The biggest thing that stands out to me is that the front leg should be straight and not bent at the knee like in the screen shot.
