These games don't make drastic enough visual changes from year-to-year for it to matter for an initial trailer. While I'm not personally a fan of the practice, I know it's not geared towards me...it's geared towards more of a general audience who is less likely to pick up on visual subtleties. So I doubt it's much of a consideration for marketing.

I do feel bad (in a semi-sarcastic and snickering way) for people who might have actually bought the BR with hopes of getting a sneak peak or something though...lol.
No worries, Moneyball was one of my favorite movies in 2011. I just got finished enjoying it about an hour ago.

And I can't think of many companies who do this as a practice, except for teaser trailers (kind of when they really just don't have anything to show, technically). I must say, since I haven't left an opinion on this trailer yet, that I was incredibly underwhelmed when I watched it. After hearing what the CD guys are saying, it sounds like we can expect a bit more than what we got.

        I know......

You can see the screenshots we have for this game already, and if you put two pics side by side you might not be able to see which game is 11 and which is 12 at times. It all depends on what they're showing. My point still stands that video game trailers are not my favorite thing to watch, because they might have trouble showing you what's new. It's gameplay videos that will show us what's new with this game.

I get you. A lot of people here were saying they plan to get the movie anyway. I would just kind of chuckle at the thought of someone buying it with hopes of anything special.

As for the use of old footage in trailers, I think we're saying the same thing (since "teaser trailer" is really all this was). As I said, it's fairly common practice (with EA and 2K for certain) for initial/teaser trailers. Again, just to get the word out, etc.

I hope that's all old footage from MLB '11, because otherwise it means they STILL haven't fixed the LCD screen in CF at US Cellular field.

I'm extremely happy to know this is still from 11 the Show. Otherwise, nothing has been changed in Busch Stadium. Which would make me severely disappointed because that would mean ALL of my work was for not.

(Not to mention Albert is still on the LF wall at Busch. If in 12, that would be against some MLB/Player's Association policy.)

Looks similar to an MLB 11 commercial I saw on T.V. once with the same "Blow Up" instrumental song.

I knew it would be MLB 11 footage.

That's how these things work. You have anywhere from a 3 to a 6 month lead time. 6 months ago what do you think MLB 12 looked like?
