Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
If you remember from CD: Does the CPU actually check/twitch more when it takes pitches? Reason I ask is that it helps to see what CPU is looking for by his (or her, LOL) reaction... I felt that was something missing that I could use as a probe against HUM.Comment

This is a great news...

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
I use classic exclusively. I probably will try to use pulse a little this year as well.Comment

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
Classic pitching on allstar level for me. As Nomo said, I like the realistic numbers that classic pitching provides. I did try analog pitching for a few games and almost stayed with it, but ended up going back to classic.
Based on Pared's info about pulse pitching, I will start with that option this year and give it a try. One thing I love about The Show is all the batting/pitching options available.Comment

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
Been using Classic on All-Star for most of my playtime. The beauty of it is it gives the game a nice clean visual without meters and stuff cluttering the screen.
The new Pulse feature sounds awesome, unfortunately I wish it was implemented differently. The circle is just too large, distracting, and has an arcade look to it.
I'll still try it out, but I'm OCD with that kind of stuff.Comment

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
Yeah, count me in the group that will try out Pulse Pitching. I always hoped that SCEA would make a pitching mode where they combined Classic and Meter, and Pulse is exactly that. Can't wait to try it out! Meter seemed too easy for me, I could just pick my spots with the worst control pitchers in the league (looking at you Burnett!) and be all Greg Maddux-like. Not cool.Comment

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
From my understand, no matter how small the circle is, it only gives you a better opportunity to hit that spot. It's not a guarantee though. Also, bad control equals the pulse is faster, I like that.Comment

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
It can get quite difficult.
(quite is saying it mildly...at least in my case!)

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
Sounds like exactly what I thought classic pitching with a user twist. I agree with Nemesis I wish I could determine effort but I can get by if it's realistic ya know. These guys are smart their not gonna throw in a fourth pitching option without targeting some population of players. They must play the game alot cuz its almost like a group of us who play sitting around trying to think of an alternative.Comment

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
I also like to vary effort with Pulse Pitching if possible... may not need another pitching interface though. Perhaps the duration of button hold for pitch selection/location for Pulse? Or how many pulses you allow before hitting X (the earlier the more power would make sense, since you won't have more time to time the pulsing...)?
I think Classic's sacrificing accuracy for more power made sense to me.Comment

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
The first month that I had MLB 11, I used the analog pitching but I never used the left stick to locate the ball. I always located the ball with the right stick (sort of 'gaming' the meter).
If you missed one way, the pitch goes high. If you miss the other way, the pitch goes low.
ALWAYS!
So I had to go back to classic pitching because it had the radial randomness that I crave.Comment

Re: Classic pitching Anyone who still uses?
I hate change so I'll probably stick with classic (I have played in both rookie and veteran mode) but I might give pulse pitching a shot.Comment
