I believe yesterday someone said that pressing R2 brings up all the pitches in the at bat

1,000,000% agree. I have everything else off and as a hitter, I never look at that thing or use the guess pitch.

at the very least they should eliminate the button prompts [x, o, etc, etc.] just have a little box with the confidence meters for each pitch, overall confidence and energy.

but of course removing it completely and just having that info available in the quick menu is even better.

I stated it before but i'll say it again.

          ???.
L3 never showed all the pitches of an at-bat. It showed only the timing and contact quality of your last bat. With "select" you could see the info of all your at-bats. With MLB 11 it also gave you more information of your teammates' at-bats. I hope this info is still there?

Digging it. But went back to analog pitching and hitting pretty quickly. I could not figure out the timing of Pulse Pitching for the life of me. I'll give it a go again though.

I played my first game on timing hitting/All Star and I lost 3-0 to Darvish and the Rangers (I was the Yankees). I played another game, same settings, and was down 2-0 to the Rays with Price in the 6th inning. I moved it down to Veteran and immediately scored 4 runs. I ended up losing 5-4 in extras though.

L3 DID show all the pitches in the current AB. And all of the previous AB before the first pitch of the current one. I noticed this was missing, also.

Is anyone experiencing any glitches/ hiccups in exhibition mode? As if you were playing online? Like when a pitcher throws his pitch it hiccups before it gets to the plate and you swing real early? This happened to me in MLB 11 and I thought it was my ps3 and bought a new one last month, and now its happening in this game to, any help?

Very impressed by this years rendition. Love the pulse pitching and commentary was surprising to me. While there is still plenty of carry over in commentary I have heard quite a bit that was fresh and well produced. Still not up there with NBA2K but hopefully they will continue to move forward.

Ball physics have made a huge difference! Hitting seems so much more realistic because of it. Great job SCEA!

Diamond Dynasty seems to be pretty decent. Nothing that I will continue once proper rosters come out and I can start my franchise in earnest, but it will keep my attention until then.

Only negatives I have seen are a few minor clipping issues. Nothing that worries me too much.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - PS3 Impressions Thread

Having a blast with the game. Lot of things jumping out at me because I spent so little time with MLB 10 and 11 (both just rentals for me).

Ball physics definitely a huge improvement and love the bounce off the bat. Been mentioned a gazillion times but I'm sure we will hear it a gazillion and one more times after this post.

I never ever played with vibration on because I mostly hated it when I was pitching and near the corners. It seems more subtle now so I can deal, but I also like the other things vibration brings such as the subtle vibrations during a huge at-bat. Not only am I trying not to do too much and swing at a bad pitch, but the darn game is reminding me it's a clutch situation.

The collision detection among players is really nice. Picked off a baserunner on first and watched the first baseman's glove get in the runner's way. It was minor, but you could clearly see how the runner's arm couldn't slide through to the bag because the glove was in front. Little things like that make collision detection worth it.

I haven't seen it so maybe I've been unlucky, but no mention of the umpires in the beginning of the game? I can check the Game Log, but during the game I'd like to know if Woody Keller is calling those borderline strikes on me again (seriously, Woody Keller is my arch-nemesis).

For years now I've mentioned to Russell and company that guys like Lincecum should already be in their set while receiving the pitch call from the catcher rather than have their hands on their side and then go into their signature windup.

Russell told me they were working on guys over the years and it seems they've finally knocked this out as it appears perfect from the start. Noticed this in videos but wanted to play the game before commenting on it. Great job, guys.

One final thing, I know we have guys that think the pitch speeds are too fast (and I can see why), but I love it. I love facing Strasburg and trying to catch up to his 99 mph heater while being cognizant of his slider. For years I've had the problem of swinging too early in MLB The Show. Always out in front of 90+ mph fastballs. Now, that's not the case. I'm late. Late. Very late. And I love it.

Not sure what else to add except I need to lay off pitches out of the zone. I swear my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Played my first game last night. Jays (me) vs Indians. Lost 6-4 but the game was great. Played on allstar difficulty but after striking out 6 times in a row to start the game, I lowered pitch speed to 0. Was out hit 11-7 but Arencibia hit a 445 ft blast in the 8th. I ended the game striking out 15 times and walking 1, whereas the Indians struck out 6 times and walked 1 as well. Used pulse putching and zone batting.

I really liked pulse pitching, once I got that hang of it, but I stayed mainly in the strike zone so the lack of walks was my doing. Romero had a 2 hitter going into the 7th when he gave up a lead off hit to Excobar who dove for it, but I double pressed the throw button and he held onto the ball. Next batter hits a groundball to Lind at first who tries to tag first but misses, and since I already had pre-loaded the throw to 2nd, both runners were safe. Not exactly sure how I ran around the bag, but oh well. Next batter hits a single so bases are loaded. I get the next batter 1-2 and hit the outside of the plate 2 times in a row and the ump calls them balls!!!! He was BRUTAL!!!!!! Batter fouls off a ball and I walk him on the next pitch to give up the tying run. After that Romero's confidence wasshot and they got 3 more runs. Top 8 they add 2 more and bottom 8 Arencibia hits his bomb. I score 2 in the bottom of 9 and leave the bases loaded when Bautista hits a long ball to left center that gets caught at the wall.

Great game, except the umping was horrible!!!

Definitely forgot to mention that I do like Pulse Pitching. A lot.

I went back to Classic for a few innings and couldn't do it. I had to return to Pulse. I also like that even with Pulse, it does not guarantee the pitch will go within that circled area.

And the new umpires are much more consistent with their own zones which I like. Felt like in past years the umpires weren't sure what their zones were. They were simply variable per pitch. This time, they know their zone.

In one ST game I used that to my advantage once I noticed the ump was calling low and away pitches off the zone for strikes. Started pounding that area when necessary. Didn't always hit the spot (thank you Pulse), but when I did, he rung up a few guys.

Don't know how but they keep making an already amazing game better every year. I find hitting better this year, had some issues with analog last year. Feels better and I can pick up pitches a bit better. Graphics seem better and overall the best show and baseball game ever IMO.,

Same here. I was getting bored with the game and took last year off. Before then I had moved to 2K due to the analog controls for pitching and hitting. Now that this game has its own version of those and the pulse pitching that has been surprisingly fun, I am enjoying it again.
