Only played 1 game with my Yankees and here's quick impressions:
- graphics are amazing, a lot more polished from last year IMO, although on a home run, I did notice what looked like a glowing outline surrounding Arod.
- as everyone has mentioned, ball physics are great this year. You can really tell when you make solid contact (I'm using zone hitting on HOF difficulty).
- pulse pitching takes a bit getting used to, but you'll get the hang of it after a few innings. I walked one with C.C. and then beaned another dude, but with the exception of those two gaffes in the first inning, didn't walk anyone else, though I did make a few mistakes later on in the game. This was also on HoF pitching difficulty.
- a con and a bad one IMO: on two separate hard hit ground balls to right field, I was able to throw out the runner from the outfield at first base. And this is with Nick Swisher, who does not have a good arm. Something requires tweaking here.
- as with previous years, you're going to need to be patient to work with the count in your favor. I hit two homers, one with ARod and one with Andruw Jones and both on favorable counts.
