Probably was not working for you because you were using an XBOX controller!

One of the complaints/suggestions to the pitching motions, be it 2k's analog style of making designs with the R-stick, to meters, etc.. is that once the user has the pattern "learned" it makes the pitching too easy.

Is the randomness, in your opinion, based on just that, or is there a way to figure out the proper button press to consistently get the Pulse Pitching Marker in the smallest window?

        Thanks,

It definitely is a feel type of mechanic just as much as it is visual. If you wait until you visually see the circle at its smallest point you will never lock it in at that point it will lock when it expands back out. You almost have to press just as it is decreasing in size just before you visually see the circle at its smallest point.

That's going to change so many time with each sim....moves made...injuries etc.
I've seen them in the basement and in the Series already in about 15 sims(first season)

          2. Generally, pitch counts stay low...assuming you're throwing enough balls... if you're not enducing enough foul balls or swing and misses. So far, is it one or the other (or both) that you're not seeing enough of?

          3. I know you said after CD that striking out the CPU seemed more frequent this year. Or atleast the ability to get more if you set the CPU up. After playing the retail version, do you still feel the same way? The CPU was SO disciplined on HOF last year!
I'm loving how the CPU works the pitchers and also goes fishing this year.
My FIRST K came against Michael Bourn...LOOKING this year after getting the retail version(using Santana). My second was McCann swinging.(same inning)

Argh - I even said it while I was there. I could have sworn I mentioned this to someone that would fix it.

          Damn.
Yep...noticed that right off the bat(so to speak!)
          Wonder what happened?

I agree. Great new default. I used Catcher Wide last year and this is close to that.

I don't think so. I honestly don't think you could ever "master" the pulse. In it's simplicity...that's what makes it so nice.
Also....I wonder...does the pitcher's control rating influence the pulse(other than just level of difficulty)?
          I can't remember.

Also depending on the pitch confidence, each pitch will have its own individual pulsating circle size and speed. So for example a pitch that your pitcher is not doing well with will pulse faster and be larger than a pitch he is doing well with. Also a pitcher's ratings will have affect as well as difficulty in regards to size and speed of the pulsating circle.

This is what I had gathered from your guys' reports at CD, and I love that the size, the intensity, and the overall adjustment of the pulse is based on the batter, pitcher, confidence, stamina, etc... Awesome idea.

I know it was only 6 inning, and again, partly to blame maybe because of the condition of the controller at BB, but I just never really was able to figure out the rhythm of the meter. Not saying it is a bad thing by any means, because the minute you figure out the trick, you are no longer going to have a vested interested in playing with it, but I do hope it is not simply Classic pitching with a visible marker.

I am pretty sure I will go back to Analog and its new system, but I really want to give this new option a fair chance.

                Is anyone else experiencing this?
Also has anyone tried pitching on analog legend yet? Are we still seeing low pitch counts with that ?

Thanks for putting up those stats in the image thread tabarnes19! They look very good. Is there a bug showing all of the player images with a Reds logo?

For those that have simmed seasons, how are the cpu trades? In the league leader screenshots, I see all of the big names with their same teams, which I think is good, but did any of the contending teams try to improve near the deadline?

                          Thank you.

Umm, how is the speed though because even on slowest in last year's it was way to fast. And the batting view made it impossible for me to tell balls and strikes.

                          Thanks.

IMO certainly slower. I still lowered it -2 clicks and am VERY happy there. Last year I was at 0

I only played it twice, but the ball physics make it seem more real. I don't remember seeing anything else new though.
