Franchise has the minor leagues and is always 162 games.

Season has an inactive list and can be adjusted to 14, 61?, 82, or 162 game seasons. I don't think it has all the contract rules like arbitration, rule 5 draft, etc., but I could be wrong.

In Season you only have a 40-man roster and the length can be shortened, Franchise covers Triple & Double A.

        You did not sign them.
You made them offers. They did not accept them(these are contract renewable players) but unfortunately....the game doesn't notify you that they don't want the multi-year deal(even though it's exactly what they "asked" for)....on or just before February 28th(or the last day of the off season)...you must go back into the manage contracts screen and offer the the contract renewable contract which they must sign and accept.
This would be players who are 26 and under with 1 year deals.

          1. What pitching system should I use ? I'm using classic I think , I press a button to select pitch and then press x to throw.
I personally use Pulse Pitching, as it is the flavor of the season. I choose everything over classic though.

          2. When using classic pitching ( or whatever I'm using) how do I choose the fastness of the pitch ? Do I hold down the button longer ?
If you use Pulse Pitching, you cannot... I don't think anyway. I suggest using Meter or Analog (whichever was brought in last season. By using meter, you can make a faster pitch by pushing X in the red part of the meter.

          3. Why do all the people on the forum use legendary / hard batting and pitching but complain about the game being hard? Is there something I'm missing? I'm using rookie , is harder modes mabye easier in a way ? Idk.
People like to find a way to complain in any game :P I personally think this year's game is incredibly easy, and I use All-Star in every the Show game... may be time to hike it up to Hall of Fame level.

          4. When I bat I usually miss , foul, or hit a popper straight into the opponents glove . Any tips on hitting far balls that are lower to the ground and are not a easy catch ?
If you are playing rookie... it's all about timing. Since you sound new to the series, I'd reccomend using TIMING hitting until you get used to the strides, then go from there. Timing makes the game a lot easier for a lot of people, although I don't like not being able to control the stride. Also, you need to look at the ball's location before you swing. Don't swing if it's too far or too close to the batter. Swing when it's down the middle, or in a zone you know you can hit it in.

          5. I havent played a baseball game since wii sports baseball, haha ,
Any other general tips? , mabye road to the show tips, I was thinking of starting a franchise any tips?
This is nothing like Wii Sports, so it's probably best to forget any and all mechanics about that game :P In general, the best advice is to keep practicing. After a while you will figure it out on your own.

RttS - I would advise playing all the positions before starting a serious Road to the Show, just so you find something enjoyable. Also, don't choose a team. Choose to be drafted. Odds are you will be traded a time or two anyway.

Franchise - Don't trade for all the star players. Work your way up. Otherwise you will rely on players of intense skill, and never get better at dealing with adversity in the case of an injury to one of them.

And thanks in advance to everyone who answers my questions
I put your answers in bold. Hope I was of help.

Also to add to Dickey's response. Managers cannot be ejected. Players can argue and be ejected and you have the option to x out of the action if you prefer the player stop arguing.

Did they remove the End Of Series Stats that used to be shown when the game was loading back to the franchise screen?
I've played 5 series now and haven't seen this?

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread

I started a 30 team franchise and picked all 30 teams.. Advanced right to start season. I went to adjust roster for marlins and cardinals but the Cpu roster control option at the bottom of menu was not highlighted so I had to use the other roster option and waivers were used because I had to send some players down minors.
Is there a option to turn the CPU roster control option back on? Thanks

This question is mostly intended to be answered by a developer, but if you want to discuss you can.

What are we going to do about next year and the helmet rule? Baseball is requiring all players to switch to the new S100s by next year.

Are we going to be forced to have all our players wear them, like they are in the minor leagues?

Maybe you could give us the option to play with the new helmets or let us use the old ones if we wish.

Can someone tell me if there is a way to split playing time at a certain position? I only play about 25 games a season, and I'd really like to see Thome and Wigginton split time at 1st. Any way to do this?

Not to my knowledge. You would have to do it manually.

Yes, and it looks really stupid, but you can put only one sleeve on (go to the "right sleeve/left sleeve" option) and you can put on short sleeve. Do this to only one arm (it doesn't matter which) and the player will be wearing "short sleeves" during night games. I really do wish though that they would fix this, as its highly frustrating. For claiming to be the most realistic baseball game out there, 50 players in a ballpark wearing long sleeves all at once isn't all that realistic
