    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

25 games into my Yankees Franchise. All Default AS (Timing/Classic/Auto Field), with Fielding Errors at 6, SB Frequency 7...and, ugh...Injuries at 6. I'll revisit the injuries part in a moment.

    14-11

    Team hitting: .270 BA, 111 R, 39 2B, 1 3B, 32 HR, 20 SB, 5 CS (.800 success rate), 79 BB, 185 SO, .430 SLG, .333 OBP, .763 OPS

    Team pitching: 3.90 ERA, 13 QS, 1 CG SHO, 5 SV, 224 IP, 210 H, 31 HR, 96 BB, 193 SO, 1.37 WHIP, .249 AVG vs R, .253 AVG L

    Individual hitting:

Jeter (60 Day DL) .224 BA, 2 HR, 8 RBI
    Granderson .308 BA, 3 HR, 10 RBI
    Cano .309 BA, 3 HR, 10 RBI
    Rodriguez .226, 6 HR, 13 RBI
    Texiera .278, 7 HR, 23 RBI (3rd in AL)
    Swisher .268, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 14 BB (11th in AL)
    Ibanez .293, 3 HR, 10 RBI
    Martin .257, 2 HR, 6 RBI
Gardner (15 Day DL) .365 AVG (4th in AL), 0 HR, 5 RBI, 10 SB (2nd in AL)

    Cervelli .200, 1 HR, 2 RBI
    Jones .156, 2 HR, 6 RBI
    Nunez .240, 0 HR, 2 RBI

    Individual pitching:

    Sabathia 4-0, 1.32 ERA (1st in AL), 28 K, 9 BB
    Pineda 2-2, 6.83 ERA, 33 K (10th in AL), 16 BB
    Kuroda 1-3, 4.76 ERA, 26 K, 13 BB
    Hughes 1-1, 3.24 ERA, 20 K, 14 BB
    Nova 1-2, 4.03 ERA, 21 K, 11 BB

    Garcia 0-1, 6.75 ERA, 7 K, 7 BB
    Aardsma 0-0, 10.38 ERA, 0 K, 5 BB
    Logan 1-0, 3.00 ERA, 9 K, 1 BB
    Wade 1-1, 2.19 ERA, 8 K, 4 BB
    Soriano 0-1, 1.38 ERA, 16 K, 7 BB
    Robertson 1-0, 2.31 ERA, 13 K, 0 BB
    Rivera 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 7 K, 4 BB, 4 SV

After starting 9-5 to start the season, CC Sabathia went down a minor 10-day long injury. BOS, TEX and DET would capitalize on this, and ultimately bring my Yanks stumbling into his return with .500 record (11-11).

But just like any leader, CC's return would prompt 3 consecutive victories (2 coming against BAL) and 2 consecutive drama filled walking offs to open the month of May (including a bottom of the 10th HR from Nick Swisher to end a 1-1 tie in a pitchers duel that touted Brian Matuz and Ivan Nova).

CC Sabathia is first in CY Young and All-Star voting, while Brett Gardner aims to possibly chase a batting title once his 15-day DL stint is over.

Michael Pineda clearly needs some seasoning, and won't last in the rotation much longer if he doesn't shape up soon. David Aardsma is one bad inning away from a flat out release.

Derek Jeter, who's been struggling greatly, went on the 60-Day DL last night; hurting his leg after a hard slide into 3rd base. Eduardo Nunez will become the everyday shortstop while I decide if any waiver releases or FA's make a better fit for an extended period of time.

Roy Halladay leads the MLB with a 0.87 ERA, while Paul Konerko is the only player in both leagues still hitting above .400 (.409, 11 HR, 29 RBI). Matt Moore is just behind CC Sabathia in ERA in the AL, posting a 1.53 ERA over his first 5 starts.

Albert Pujols hasn't adjusted to AL pitching yet, hitting a dismal .185 on the year and only driving in 9 RBI.

The Blue Jays, Mariners and Mets all lead their divisions with winning percentages above .666.

And Grady Sizemore is injured...again!!!! God I love this game!!!

I lost my epic pitchers duel 4-0 too Jered Weaver, but Matt Garza evened up the series with eight innings of one run ball. CJ Wilson and Jason Vargas battled it out in a sim game that went down the positive route for Seattle, and now, it's Kevin Millwood, in what could be a make or break start for his season, against Ervin Santana. I will likely have to rest Lind, which will hurt my offense, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

In June of 2013 of my mets franchise and looks like Zach Wheeler is here to stay. Called him up as Johan hit the DL and in his first 3 big league starts he is 2-0 with a 1.52 era and 24 ks. Harvey will be next when dickey retires as he is dominating triple a right now. So alot to be excited about here in queens for the future. .

                Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

First of all I chose to restart my franchise with the Braves, because of the patch. I was only five games into, so no big deal.

Needless the to say I got swept by the Mets. All three games were day time due to the download of the patch. Kudos to SCEA!

Game 1: Hudson got drilled for 8ER on 4IP, bullpen was great in relief. Although I lost 8-4 I did not give up. I actually had opportunities to make a run.

Game 2: The knuckler Dickey held me in check. He also gave his team help offensively with 2R single. The Mets were up 2-0. I worked the pitch count against Dickey, finally got a run off. Knocking him out of the game in the 7th. Prado singled in the game tying RBI. Going into the btm of the 8th, game tied 2-2, I. Davis blasts a 2R HR off O'Flaherty. The Mets go on to win 4-2.

Game 3: Was hard to swallow. The reason being in my earlier franchise I won this game against the Mets. JJ threw a no hitter against the Mets. Not so much this time. I lost 5-1.

On to Houston to right the ship....

                  Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I started a Nationals franchise yesterday and was able to get 2 games in. The first I won easily 10-0, with Bryce Harper going 3/5 with a HR and 5 RBI, and Strasburg was just lights out.

The second game was a lot more exciting. Gio Gonzalez started off horribly, giving up 5 runs in the first. After that he settled down and held the Cubs scoreless in the next 5. I was missing some opportunities and taking advantage of others, and was down 5-3 in the top of the 7th. Jayson Werth came up with 2 on and 2 out, and took a pitch to left field for a 3 run home run, giving me the lead. My bullpen came in, kept the Cubs off the board and I won 8-5. Gonzalez even got the win in spite of his awful 1st inning.

I think it was the most fun I've had playing a game of MLB this year, and maybe even going back to last year.

                      Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Like many others I am started a franchise over with the new patch. I was determined to pick a team I have never considered in my 10 years of baseball video gaming. So, it was basically either the Red Sox or Yanks. The guy I am sharing the team with is a big Red Sox fan, and I wanted to be a team with some kind of atmosphere, and I figured they gotta be it. The Cubs would have also been a decent choice, but I don't wanna build a team, I am already doing that with the Padres on 2k12.

Anyways, the first thing I did was trade my RF Trot Nixon? JD Drew? or whoever it was for Manny Ramirez. I'm going to move Carl Crawford to RF and Manny can bat 5th.

I also see I have 3 A potential prospects in the minors. I see no reason they won't become an ace starting pitcher. Perhaps Haren, Hamels or Grienke.

I retooled my lineup for game four of the series with the Angels. I needed some power in the middle of my lineup because I just can't get hits when I need them. I moved Ichiro back to the third hole, and yanked Corey Hart up one. Figgins leads off now.

                        Chone Figgins
                        Corey Hart
                        Ichiro
                        Adam Lind
                        Jesus Montero
                        Justin Smoak
                        Dustin Ackley
                        Franklin Gutierrez
                        Munenori Kawasaki

This might be Kevin Millwood's final start if he can't get it together. I have Henderson Alvarez, who I got with Adam Lind, pitching lights out for Tacoma.

If I had to choose a second team (well, third. I'm MOMing with the Mariners), the Nationals would definitely be my choice.

There's something just incredibly interesting about them. Good luck, man. I look forward to your updates.

Im already at the all star break in my mets franchise,

Currently i'm standing 1st (!) in the NL East having a record of 48-36

Did some free agent signings, Signed Joel Zumaya and moved him to the closer spot after Fransisco wasnt doing it for me. Signed Derek Lee as a power bat off the bench and when Davis needs a day off. Made a move for Yunel Escobar to play short as Tejada was absolutely crap, Traded Bay back to the Yanks for Andruw Jones, and Jones was off to a really hot start but went in a slump after the 1st 2 weeks and now sits on my bench, in need of a LF i made a move for Choo from the indians. Daniel Murphy is on fire right now and currently stands 2nd in the race of the batting title with a .331 BA

                              Here some stats

                              Johan Santana 9-4 2.31 ERA 134Ks
                              R.A. Dickey 7-6 4.06 ERA
                              Niese 8-5 3.44 ERA
                              Gee 8-5 3.04 ERA
                              Pelf 7-3 4.38 ERA

                              Zumaya 1.13 ERA 27 Saves
                              Manny Acosta 2.92 ERA

                              Y. Escobar .290 BA 6 HR 84 H 25 RBI
                              D. Murphy .331 BA 7 HR 94 H 40 RBI
                              S. Choo .271 BA 11 HR 79 H 32 RBI
                              D. Wright .276 BA 16 HR 82 H 49 RBI
                              I. Davis .301 BA 17 HR 83 H 56 RBI
                              L. Duda .274 BA 8 HR 75 H 32 RBI
                              K. Nieuwenhuis .256 BA 8 HR 66 H 36 RBI
                              J. Thole .283 BA 3 HR 62 H 21 RBI

                              D. Lee .319 BA 5 HR 52 H 25 RBI
                              S. Hairston .289 BA 9 HR 33 H 27 RBI

If Nieuwenhuis keeps this cold streak alive I want to look for a new CF, any suggestions?? Doesnt have to be realistic, just fair.
And any suggestions for a decent 3,4,5 starter? because if Dickey keeps this going i will move him to LR and skip Niese in the nr 2 spot

I know its not the most realistic chise, but im having fun with it, and hope to get the NY Mets another WS title

I am using the OSFM Opening Day rosters and using CPU roster control. I started up my M's franchise but before playing games, I went through each team and set correct 40-man rosters and lineups/rotations. It took a while, but it was worth it.

3-3 on the season so far. The game is definitely a challenge. I am using PsychoBulk's sliders.

Team BA is .238 so far and my team ERA is 3.66. Pretty realistic, actually. The bottom of my lineup has been rough, but Smoak has started solid as has Ichiro and Ackley. Felix is 1-0 through two starts with a 2.74 ERA. 15 K's and 2 BB in 13.1 IP so far, but he's allowed 18 hits. Luckily, he's pitched out of some jams.

Texas is ridiculous. There's not a single 'break' in that entire lineup and I got dominated by Feliz.
