What difficulty is everyone playing on? I see a lot of franchises, but not sure of the difficulty for most. I'm on HoF myself and want to compare and contrast.

          Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

WOW anyone else had a 3 game series like this? In my brewers franchise, I am behind 0.5 games in the NL Central with the Reds at first, after losing 2 out 3 in a very important end of June series.

I win the first game 9-8,,Weeks had 3 HRS, second game lost 8-4, third game lost 8-7 weeks hit two HRS again and Braun also had 2 and i still lost. Weeks had 5 hrs in a series. This game like baseball has to be streaky, In June I won nine games in a row then went 4-6 to lose my first place NL central lead. I just got the Diamondbacks left than June is over. Took me forever to finally learn how to hit, but vs the reds doesnt seem to matter.Or is there ballpark that hitter friendly?

Are the reds really that good? or is it just one of those streaks in baseball. The reds took first place in the NL Central. Votto really killed me, so i am going to beam him in the head next series. They beamed Carlos Lee in the head, so its only fair.By the way I play with TNK's all star sliders, if that matters.

            Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I started my franchise a few days after the game came out, and am already on August 13th. I play every single inning of every single game. The past few years I've waited for the good rosters everybody wants, only to stop playing the game by the time Madden comes out. I'm having the most fun this year than I have any other previous year playing this game. That includes actually winning World Series'...(hard to believe right?). Well onto the statistics.

I'm the Chicago Cubs, sitting at 62-52 - a depressing 14.5 GB the league's best Milwaukee Brewers (76-37). However, I'm only 3 GB the Rockies for the NL Wild Card; that's clearly my realistic target. Offensively my team is in the middle of the pact, hitting .256 so far while driving in only 409 runs (26th in MLB). My team ERA is probably what's keeping me over .500, at 3.19 (3rd in MLB).

I've made a few moves to my team that has me pretty comfortable to the point where I believe I could do damage in the playoffs. These are the players I've added to my team. Nobody really spectacular or what you would call, "Superstar", but they are pieces for the present and future of the Chicago Cubs.

            Justin Masterson
            Matt LaPorta
            Lonnie Chisenhall
            J.P. Howell
            Freddy Sanchez
            Brandon Crawford
            Edwin Encarnacion
            Macier Izturis

I've also had a few rookies come up and provide a huge boost for me: Brett Jackson, Anthony Rizzo, and computer generated Tim Lowery.

            Hitting
            David DeJesus: .275 - 9 HR - 32 RBI - 102 H - 8 SB (hitting very well as of late)
            Brett Jackson: .278 - 6 HR - 23 RBI - 73 H - 9 SB (called up May 11th)
            Starlin Castro: .216 - 6 HR - 34 RBI - 92 H - 20 SB (has slumped like this all season)
            Ian Stewart: .286 - 15 HR - 57 RBI - 112 H - 39 2B (by far my MVP thus far)
Matt LaPorta: .260 - 9 HR - 34 RBI - 59 H (has done well for me since acquiring him from Indians)
            Tim Lowery: .354 (147 AB) - 3 HR - 18 RBI - 52 H (has stepped in nicely with Soto on DL)
            Anthony Rizzo: .250 - 4 HR - 24 RBI - 70 H (recently hitting .275, having a good rookie year)
Geovany Soto: .290 - 14 HR - 50 RBI - 71 H (desperately need his bat back, will return from DL in a week)
            Freddy Sanchez: .267 - 3 HR - 32 RBI - 94 H (disappointment since acquiring him)

            Pitching
            Matt Garza: 10-7 - 3.54 ERA - 91 K - 23 BB - 17/23 QS - 139.2 IP
            Travis Wood: 8-4 - 2.96 ERA - 110 K - 18 BB - 16/22 QS - 136.2 IP
            Paul Maholm: 11-6 - 2.63 ERA - 75 K - 25 BB - 18/23 QS - 144.0 IP
            Chris Volstad: 8-7 - 3.09 ERA - 92 K - 21 BB - 18/23 QS - 145.2 IP
            Ryan Dempster: 8-7 - 3.12 ERA - 103 K - 39 BB - 15/23 QS 141.1 IP

            Notable Bullpen
Justin Masterson: 2-0 - 4.29 ERA - 6 K - 2 BB - 14.2 IP (last 8 IP have been scoreless. he will start for me next year. very happy with his work as the long reliever.)
            James Russell: 3-2 - 2.40 ERA - 27 K - 5 BB - 45.0 IP
            Jeff Samardzija: 3-0 - 2.58 ERA - 35 K - 12 BB - 45.1 IP
            Kerry Wood: 4-3 - 1.67 ERA - 43 K - 1 BB - 43.0 IP
            Carlos Marmol: 2-3 - 2.28 ERA - 48 K - 12 BB - 36/39 SV - 51.1 IP

There you have it. I love this franchise. I'll update it again in a few weeks (game-time) to update my progress. Thanks for reading.

              Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I selected the Brewers. They have a good MLB roster, but crap in the minors. I always feel as if minor league prospects are always over-rated so I didn't want one of those teams with awesome farm systems because it's probably not realistic.

With Grienke a pending UFA it'll be interesting to see what happens with him. Otherwise it'll mostly be play play play.

                Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

so ive been going through these for the past couple weeks and was wondering how everyone simulated there games. Currently i am the brewers and play every time Greinke pitches and didnt know if people just straight up simulated past the calendar dates, did cpu vs. cpu or if they fast forward through the games to get more realistic results.

                  Blue Jays easily.

You have a superstar in Bautista, future superstar in Lawrie, a great mix of power and speed through the lineup, one of the best farm systems and a pretty decent rotation. You also get the added bonus of having awesome new unis.

Really the only downside is that Rogers Centre doesn't look all that great.

Hall of Fame here as well. Using me and Authentic's Summer Classic Set and everything has been beautiful so far. I am 5-2 with the Brewers. Stats don't matter as 7 games is NO WHERE NEAR a large enough sample size, but I've been blown out and I've crushed teams.

I've heard many say the market for him will not be that huge because teams like NYY, Bos and Phi who play in pressure cookers won't be interested.

I meant my Yankees, not the real one's.

This NYY market is very interested!

Though, yes, I agree with you 100%.

It's not my opinion just what I heard.

You signing him or trading for him?
