My next step is to increase the timing window for my hitters but I am enjoying the fact that I'm not hitting .345+ like I did in MLB 10.
I'm glad that I am not alone! Yes, I feel the hardest part is judging any form of fastball. The timing is usually always "too late", yet if I swing any sooner I feel I am blurring the lines between "watching for a clean pitch" and simply guessing it'll be a hittable ball.

      Yes, yes, and yes again.

I'll say with the pitch speed all the way down it feels less like guessing at whether the ball is hittable or not, and more like I'm able to distinguish speeds and react appropriatley. Although it's still a bit difficult.

I've never played a video game where I had to lower settings to play and that's why I'm so stubborn not to change it. I guess my only answers are to finally accept a few slider changes or practice my butt off.

Why did they remove instant replays and cut scenes from the game??

I understand the need to speed up the game on the handheld.

At least give us an option to turn this on or off.

I hit a HR, and didn't get an instant replay or cut scene of the player rounding the bases. It jumped to the next player at bat.

          Disappointed in this respect.

Also a little disappointed with the graphics. I was expecting the graphics to look better.

Please add some more cut scenes and presentation for next year's game!

Have you seen the framerate dip in the bullpen? I can see why they were left out. Plus this is more taylored to pick up and play, quick baseball. As it should be on a handheld IMO.

Yah, I've gone to pitch slider at 0, and I'm using the offset catcher cam... helping me a TON. So much so, that this is actually how I'm playing on PS3 now.

I play on all star defaults with classic catcher view. I guess the location and then I keep the bat-cursor high if I guess incorrectly. This may be cheating or whatever but I'm having fun and that's all that matters to me.

Last night I had a complete game shutout with Strasberg vs. the Mets. 3 hits and 10ks. It was awesome!

I have All Star difficulty, pitch speed 2 clicks above 0, and hitting timing 1 click above default and I seem to be finding a good balance. I'm hitting about .270 20 games into my RTTS season so far.

Putting the timing slider 1 click up made a really big difference for me.

                    Hey guys

I'm from the UK, does the cloud save work using a uk account across both platforms?

                    Cheers

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

I was messing with the sliders for days and I was having a blast but I was frustrated. One night I started to string hits together and even won a game with a Tulowitzki Hr in the 10th.

After the game I went into the menu to turn up the sliders and they were at default All-Star. All that tuning for nothing....

I haven't touched my XBox or PS3 in two weeks.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread

In addition to a "Pitch Around" command I mentioned earlier, I'd like to see a "Pitch to Contact" command as well. Mainly because I'm finding confidence is leading to some wonky results.

In my last game I had an early 10-0 lead in the 4th inning. The rest of the game I just wanted to throw the ball over the plate so the batters would put the ball in play and let the fielders clean up the mess. If I give up a hit no big deal (that's going to happen more often since I'm not setting up the hitters and nibbling corners.)

I don't want to see a big confidence hit in this situation. And that's what ended up happening, I had to keep putting relievers in to finish the game off. In garbage time it's either that, or you nibble until you're blue in the face.

Example: My pitcher has 70% confidence and I give up 2 singles with "Pitch to Contact" enabled. Now I'll probably want to go back and start nibbling, the difference is that my confidence is still there - rather than being completely destroyed and having to go to my pen.

In summary for both Pitch Around & Pitch to Contact:

Advantage: Result = No loss in confidence
                        Disadvantage: Confidence cannot increase

Cloud saves won't work with your UK account. You'll need to play with a US account to be able to use cross-play.

Cheapassgamer.com reviewed the show on the Vita. I couldn't disagree with this review more. Some of the things that he complains about have never happened to me in almost 30 games. I like their site but this is one of the most disappointing reviews i've read in a while. I think I'm going to have to take their future reviews with a grain of salt.

I haven't been able to hold onto a lead to save my life lately. Of course it's not like I'm buckling down and focusing while I sneak 10 minutes in my office at work to play in.

                                *knock knock* "Chef?"

"yeah, uh, Hold on a sec!"
