Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
We are looking at a pictures 3 times the size of the vita screen with the same resolution of 960X544. It is going to look pixelated.
These screenshots are approximately 13.3 x 7.5 inches while the vita is 4.3x2.4, approximately.Return of the MackComment

For those of you who are wondering what it's like to take MLB 12 The Show to your bedroom which is where I'm at with my earphones plugged into my Vita( the wife is snoring)firing the show back up for a late night game. My initial impression is one word. Awesome!!!!
Might not be as pretty as its big brother but damn it feels nice to have the option/luxury of being able to fire this game up no matter where I'm at.

Also, the crowd in the demos was static and you basically don't see them while playing. Whereas in the Show the crowds are the ones in need of some graphical boost, in my opinion, and they are everywhereephemeralComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
The more I play it, the more I'm enjoying the Vita version. The gameplay is great, and the 'pick up and have a go' factor is exactly what I was after.
Playing RTTS (SP for the White Sox) is great, and the 'quick play' and lack of automatic replays seems to be less of an issue in that mode, where I'm jumping quickly from one inning to another and the emphasis is on my performance.
I love the broadcast feel of the PS3 presentation, but I have to be honest, after a while I jump through a lot of the replays and other broadcast stuff, so I'm reasonably happy with the Vita presentation so far.
Other than what looks like the problems I'll have getting on-line (blasted on-line passes) as I'm not in the US, things look good for a season of portable MLB.Comment

I'm over the graphics disappointment now and though the lack of auto replay/presentation still grinds, I am quite happy jumping back to manual replays of anything worth watching again.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
The funny thing is, I've not seen any dodgy graphics yet - maybe I've not played enough and in enough different ball parks, or maybe I'm not paying enough attention, but so far they've been great, and I've definitely not noticed anything like the worst examples posted here - has anyone determined exactly what scenarios cause the really bad graphics?Comment

Clear, day game: The lighting. shadows and reflections are awesome.
Pitcher FULL view: This looks as close to PS3 as the game gets... Crowd and player models look great.
DARK UNIFORMS: SUCH a difference here... If you have a light uniform on and it's a night /cloudy game.. The players don't look so hot. Now try playing with the warm up jerseys and look at the difference. Something about the lighting and shadows on the white uniforms looks very last gen- if it's a night game (day games look fine).Comment
