Well maybe she doesn't know about OS or has been banned... jk

Right, she probably could've done either way... my point is that I still feel the review is quite shallow, didn't get a sense that she has spent a lot of the time with the franchise... just my opinion.

And I agree that "professional" reviews these days aren't very useful, especially when hardcore fans are giving out more sincere feedback elsewhere.

I haven't played the game so I don't really have much issue with various opinions, but I worry a bit because of the possible influence of such a review like this for the health of franchise (as EN mentioned earlier), and because I'm confused by the integrity of review site like this one, which presumably have some influence on the industry.

I can see some people feeling the game not progressing enough, but it hasn't regressed either. And all the feedback pretty much that I've read says this year is an improvement, though how much really depends on what you are looking for.

For a game that hasn't really regressed, why the score goes down by two points? And I'm not saying this because I want to defend the Show (in fact, I'm holding my own judgement till I get one myself).

    It just doesn't make sense.

Personally ball physics isn't that important to me - the gameplay was already awesome as many people here have pointed out throughout the years - is it more "awesomer" now? the law of diminishing returns definitely comes into play when it comes to the gameplay.

i for one am hoping that for 2013 they work solely on franchise, commentary, and presentation. Make it look like you're watching a game on the MLB network - i'm continually blown away by their presentation - make the announcing like the nba 2k series - again the best in the business - and make franchise as close to something like ootp as they can, given the console restraints of course.

i don't play online but maybe fix that too??

if gameplay is already a 98, focus on improving the areas that are in the 70's or 80's, instead of trying to get the 98 to 100. It's like a road to the show player, your contact is 98 but your power is 80? it's obvious where to focus your improvement.

It's shallow. I agree. I still think she's covering the things she cares about which doesn't make it a complete review for us, but probably covers what her audience wants to know.

I'm guessing the 2 point decline is based on her feeling it's the same game. I know we know that doesn't seem true at all, but I can't put it past someone to feel that way. Last year, some people felt the same way saying that the new player models were the only improvements. It's going to happen every year.

All that really matters to me, and presumably you from your comments, is how we feel about the game. I personally can't wait to get this disc in my PS3 tonight.

I'm gonna have to start scouring through OS regulars for some online matches when I have the time. I never EVER play online, but I really want to try to get into this game this year beyond solo-play.

The same game site has given every Call Of Duty game, including MW3, a 9. Terrible. Guess they're just looking for new maps in games, not changes in the game engine (physics). Too bad that's not possible for baseball.
