Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I had an up and down season in my 2nd year in the Majors with Tampa Bay. I started off like a ball of fire, going 4-0 with a 1.04 ERA in my first 5 starts. But over my next 7 starts, I struggled a bit going 0-2 with my ERA ballooning to 2.63, then I got hurt for 2 months, getting knocked out until August. Ended pretty decent, but not great, finishing at 8-4 with a 2.90 ERA and 99 K's in 139.2 innings. But I finally get to do something that has eluded me in my precious RTTS careers, my team is playoff bound! I've been playing RTTS since 09 and had been like the Bobby Higginson of RTTS, never ending up on a playoff team. But here I sit, game 1 starter in the ALDS against the As and I'm pumped.
Edit - Man, I laid a real egg in game 1. Gave up 5 runs on 11 hits in 3 innings and we lost 10-1. Luckily, my team rallied to win the series in 5 and it's on to the ALCS to face the Yankees.Last edited by metal134; 12-24-2012, 12:06 AM.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Got called up to the big leagues with the Giants with my player. First major league at-bat was a pinch hit appearance in which I proceeded to take Paul Maholm deep for his first major league home run!
Oddly enough, the second homer my player hit was also in a pinch hit appearance.Comment

a 15+ era might be the user's fault as well. Most people don't go above 5.99 EraUniversity of Southern California '19

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
My Pitcher is now 23 and have maxed out all of my pitches and my stamina amongts other things. Finally got traded from the Rockies to the Phillies and i am the Ace and i am 8-0 with a Sub 1 ERA and already have 80 innings pitched and 77K's think i am doing rather good.
I think i am being grossly underpaid though. On a two year deal worth 12 mill.Comment

Playing as my closer and gave up a long fly ball that was hooking foul but it hit the foul pole for a walk off home run. But the umps called it foul and I got the save.Check out my Baseball Rumors Blog http://baseballrumors101.blogspot.com/Comment

this is a cool thread, but try playing for the pirates..yes i'm a fan and i was kind of excited when they drafted me! cool - year 1 starling marte traded!!! uuugh - year 2 Gerrit Cole traded double uuuuugh - now we did get some talent back in the cole trade which was dylan bundy, but man he stinks in mlb 12 lol - its fun but its bad - i asked for a trade but to no avail - my 3rd season we are like 49-63 - and its like they don't want to sign free agents and they trade away some of the decent players we have..hmmm sounds famlilar LOL (sarcasm) - i'm having fun but damn i just wanna make the playoffs - hell even when i played RTTS in 11 the marlins made the playoffs and WS for one year and then never again...man that sounds all the real as well - i guess if everything stays true i'll have 20 losing seasons in Pitt, and im in year 3 of that 6 year deal uuuuuugh!!! its going to be a looong season/career!!! Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
This is the complete truth, I notched my 400th win as a starting pitcher today. The year is 2032, and I am just over 19 years of service time. I debuted midway through the 2013 season with the twins, played there six years, was traded to the Yankees, played there 1 year, then went to Colorado, and won 7 consecutive world titles, then when that streak ended, I opted out and went to Anaheim, where I won a title, and then played for two more years after that, before going back to Minnesota to retire a Twin, where it all started. I picked up win number 400 today, and were a shoe in to make the postseason. This will be my last season, and I will retire at age 40. I'm gonna give it everything I have to bring Minnesota a title before I ride off into the sunset. I am an 18 time all star, 16 time cy young winner, and 17 time triple crown winner. My career record is 400-74, and my era is 2.67. Thoughts?Comment
