Felt like giving up on RTTS with my closer until I got super bored over the weekend. I had 40 something saves in 2015, my second year as the Jays closer. In 2016, I had 66 saves, won the Delivery Man award, made the All-Star team, broke the consecutive saves record, had an ERA of 0.13 and I took my team to the playoffs and got the final out to win the World Series. I friggin love this game.

Skeeter Hayes, the power hitting shortstop, cracked the Twins' starting lineup after an amazing spring. He's batting .358 with 15hrs and 61 RBIs . Current date June 4

Anyone have any tips for hitting on Legend in RTTS?

I played my first season in AA on Legend difficulty. I hit .239.... not bad for my first season. Since then, I've hit .170 in AAA and AA. I don't understand why I am doing so horribly. There will be fastballs right down the middle and I won't even make contact with perfect timing.

Do you guys think this is just the case of my player not being very good? I'm still pretty low on the overall roster.. but that doesn't explain why I would hit .239 my first season and hit so awful after that.

My first RTTS I hit .330 for my career on veteran difficulty. So I was looking for more of a challenge and grind through the minors.... All-Star and HOF still weren't challenging enough for what I wanted.

What exactly is the differences between the difficulties? It says in the options that the pitches are more smart with how they pitch you... but there's gotta be more to it than that.

I find the major difference in hitting introduced by the difficulty level above All-star is that the size of PCI is much smaller. You don't notice this at the AA level since most pitchers at the level are pretty weak, but your PCI size is determined by the combination of your rating and those of your opposing pitcher (high H/9 rating would effectively reduce your Contact rating), so once your competition gets tougher at AAA and MLB level, you will notice that your default PCI size is in fact miniscule, making you prone to swing through.

If you actually want to see what I'm describing in action, turn on the PCI visual while playing for a while. You'll see its size varies a lot against different pitchers.

I like playing at this difficulty because I hardly ever struck out on veteran (maybe 30 times a season), now I will have a more realistic stat line and number of strike outs and I like the challenge... but I just couldn't figure out how I went from hardly ever striking out, to striking out 1-3 times a game.

I can imagine Timing being slightly tougher to get right at a higher difficulty level, though I cannot substantiate the claim. The pitch speed does get faster at a higher level though (if you haven't touched the slider). So that's another factor.

I think I may move the pitch speed down one notch from where I have it if I continue to struggle this much.

What I meant was with respect to the hitting difficulty level. If you keep the Pitch Speed slider at default, for example, visually you see faster pitches at higher difficulty levels like HoF and Legend compared to lower levels.

(But it may also be true to some extent that pitchers in AAA and MLB throw harder than those in AA (that is, their Pitch Velocity ratings are higher), at least before the roster gets filled by all these generated players.)

This definitely was the problem. Before I could even play another game in AAA I got sent back down to AA and I've hit .265 since I moved the slider. It's crazy how one notch on the pitch speed slider can take me from a .170 hitter to a .260 hitter.
I loved the challenge but it got to the point of pure frustration hitting only .170 for 1 1/2 years.

One positive of doing so horribly is that I haven't been called up to the bigs yet which is what I want. It's currently 2014 and I'm shooting to make the bigs in 2016. Playing every season with the Rockies. (I have a custom no trade clause ) It should make the call-up a little easier after I spend the 2000+ points I have saved up for year 2015.

I created a SP and he has a 75mph change up. Do i have to increase its speed or can i leave it at 75mph. I get alot of strikeouts and would not like to increase the speed.

When you increase the velocity to your change up, you actually decrease its velocity! If you don't improve the velocity it will only increase.

I started off on the Yankees my favorite team. But then in around the end of June or early July the screen said Yankees trade CF so and so to the Mariners for Ichiro. It made me so mad. Because I had like 15 hrs and 60 rbis. Playing for the Jackson Generals I finished the year off with 26 hrs and 95 rbis. The next year I was going to try and sign with a different team but then it said I needed six years of MLB service. I got called up to AAA and missed 5 games with a bruised foot. Then another 60 days with a herniated disk. In my third year I made it up to the MLB bench. Derek Jeter ended up on the Mariners. Now I'm a starter for the M's and really trying to get traded

From australia and love baseball orioles all the way for me.
started my rtts 12 with a sp drafted by the rangers but am loving the new pulse pitching so far have put up numbers of 40 innings pitched 49 strikeouts and a 1.15 era with a 2 - 1 record with 2 no decisions. Team cant score runs and the relievers are terrible but love the game. Hopefuly get brought up to the aaa soon

I have 3 players in RTTS right now. My SP and 2B are in their 3rd year in the majors. Both have enjoyed a good deal of success. My CP is in his 2nd year in the bigs and is also doing very well. SP is the Ace for the Rangers. 2B bats 3rd for the Royals(there's a hike in pay for getting to stick with the hometown team, haha). CP gets his 3 outs when he's called on for the Reds.

My SP started with the Royals minor league system as did my 2B. My CP started in the Red Sox organization, but was traded to the Royals after AA ball and then traded again during AAA to the Reds. My thinking is that relief pitchers get thrown around a lot more than most players. He is also the only one to get called up to AAA before he finished a full season. I've never had a guy get a September call-up to the big leagues, sadly.

One oddity of this game was with my CP. He was 19 in AAA and putting up awesome numbers. At the same time, another 19 year old was in the majors and playing awful as a set-up man, but with the same CP listing. Would love to know how he managed that for a whole year.

I have 4 RTTS. The 1st and main one is a 1B. I retired him at the age of 39 playing for the Mets. Was drafted by the Indians and got called-up to the Show in the 2013 season. Played most of his career with the Red Sox, winning 2 World Series but played for the Nationals, the Phillies and the A's. Retired with 806 Homers in his career...

The second one is a RP, drafted by the Astros but traded to the Giants just before being promoted to AAA. Was converted to a closer for his 1st major league game...Throws a changeup, curveball, cutter and... a knuckleball !

Third one is a big fat center fielder drafted by the Jays but traded to the very bad Rockies... Got in the majors in August 2012...

The last one is a SP named Billy Chapel (I'm so original...) got drafted by the Rays but maybe will get traded to the Tigers...Throws a 4SFB, 12CV and changeup, I'm thinking about adding another one to his repertoire but I dont know which one yet.
