Yeah well that's the thing. If I sign him to a major league deal, he's added to the 40 man roster automatically.

If I want him outside the 40 man to begin with, I basically have to sign the player and then outright him right away and hope he's not claimed?

I am not using OSFM, by the way. I did create Banuelos, though I wouldn't consider trading him for a rental. I have all the Yankee regulars you'd expect though.

I have Betances, Romine, and Laird. I have a B SP and a couple C's. I have an A 1B, a B LF, and a very young A SS. Other than that, it's C or below in all positions.

Note: I think the Braves want to shed some payroll. I could take on a big contract of theirs if that would help sweeten the deal.
      You've got to be joking...

Two games later, ATL picks up one game, and now they won't budge for anything less than two A's (my top prospect in Banuelos AND Pineda) and a B (and it has to be Eduardo Nunez, which is fine, but still).

Again, I'm about a month away from making something like this happen, but jeeez...

I may as well just give them the combination to my safe so at least I can feel like I gave my possessions away, vs. getting robbed.

I'm nearing the deadline in my Cubs franchise, sitting six games over .500 and I'm in the race for a Wild Card spot. I have a need for a lefty reliever, and have been targeting J.P. Howell of the Rays. Any other options I could get on the cheap?

Also I'd like to add a right handed bat off the bench for cheap. Any ideas?

Doing a franchise with Nationals. It is mid June and the Orioles are pretty much out of it. What would it take to get Adam Jones?

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

3 weeks before the all-star break was wondering what you guys though of a couple of these trades.

            1.
            Cubs
            CP- Donte Graham
            3rd- Deibinson Romero - B
            LF - Bobby Abreu

            Twins
            Alfonso Sorino

I had Bobby for about a month picked him up when the angles dropped him in real life and couldnt get it going with him. Sorino was batting .174 for the Cubs currently up to .234. I figured they got a 3rd base prospect and a soild pitcher and also a vet with a much lower contract then Alfonso 4.1mil less.

            2.
            Boston
            SP- Nick Blackburn
            RP- Carlos Marmol
            SP- L.Hendricks - B
            SP - Brad Penny
            RP - Chad Durbin
            SS - S.Prsocia - C

            Twins
            Sp- Dice-K
            Sp- J.Lackey
            SS- J.Igesias
            2nd- O.Tejeda

I did this trade in two parts to give the Redsox players I felt they could make a push there currently 3rd in the wild card with awful pitching. Blackburn for me was having a soild year but I didnt plan on resigning him at the end of the season. I wanted Dice-K and Igesias out of this trade. Also doing this traded opened up 11million dollars for the Red Sox.

            3.
            Blue Jays
            John Lackey

            Twins
            Sp- Trysta Magnuson

Jay's needed a 5th starter Drabek is out for the season and this pretty much was soloy done for a salary dump I dropped Lackey first so I would eat some of his salary signed him again then traded him. I did it that way because there is no way a straight up full contract tract with Lackey would work I wouldnt feel right about it.

Thoughts on the trades going into the all-star break? Currently sitting 4th in the wildcard hoping the minor changes I made will help boost me abit. I have got nothing from the bottom of my rotation so far so giving Dice-K a fresh start is worth it to me

Some of the prospects sort of make sense strategically but what's with Lackey and Matsusaka???

And if Abreu is on his final year, what incentive would the Cubs have sticking him in the OF in general? If they're out if it, why would they even bother?

What do you guys think of this trade, Anthony Varvaro for José Morales? Morales and Ross can fill in for a couple months until McCann gets healthy. The Pirates are only 4 games under .500 and really need RP. They have agreed to accept the trade. Both players have a C potential. I really like that Morales is a switch hitter.

Does this seem pretty even? It fills needs for both of us, and I have a fleet of RPs.

Though I will admit I don't know much about the players, assuming they are both playing as expected and the Pirates have a catcher to fill the void from within, I don't see anything unrealistic about the deal.
