Actually Id say fielding % is the least accurate for 1B as a 1B range is usually the worst on the team so they dont get to the ball the same as other players so they arent even counted and if a throw comes in and its not fielded cleanly with a scoop its usually charged to the thrower not the receiver where other good 1B cover those mistakes but doesnt get credit for it anywhere in fielding % stats. Adam Lind is a pylon that we jays fans hopes gets balls hit to him. He wasnt even in shape enough to stay healthy at the position that many teams put their worst defender. Now if I could bring up Edwin Encarnacion...that guy should be in the negatives for fielding..hes brutal at 3B and even at first he had throwing errors and multiple error games.

Not really a rating, but I noticed Ian Kennedy has a VulcanChange.

As for snider...he still has potential but if they are basing his ratings on actual production hes not been great at any time and thats over a 3 year period which these ratings are weighted.
Adam Linds skills are actually really good. Its just his plated discipline is horrible. Chases off speed pitches out of the zone and doesnt walk enough.

Everything about Magglio Ordonez makes me say wtf? Dude can barely walk to first let alone dive for balls in the outfield. When pitching to him his whole strike zone is all red squares! I mean seriously he hasn't probably had over 20 homers in 3 years.

This thread could either become very useful, or could go the way of "every guy on my favorite team is rated way too low"

To add on this, Adam Lind's UZR/150 in 2011 was -45.1, while AGon's was 10.6. Every defensive metric depicts Lind as a poor fielding first baseman, even the eye test backs that up. Just because he has a sparkling fielding% doesn't mean he's good, just means he decent with the chances he has. What separates Lind, AGon, and Tex is the latter two get to far more balls than Lind does. Range plays a huge factor...

Arent those skills? He cant hit righties, he doesnt have patience or plate discipline and hes been a below .300 OBP more than hes been above and his defense not above average...what skills does he have? decent contact and power vs RHP? that should make him a platoon/bench player..not a starting 1b in the American league east. I understand how they rate guys, i also understand stats and watch a lot of baseball..SCEA weights things differently than I do personally and they use a combo of averaged and aggregated stats. Both Snider and Lind have potential but statwise they havent really produced over the course of their career.

I feel like when it comes to this game range doesn't matter. They could have Prince Fielder in center field and he could get to every ball like he is Ken Griffey Jr.

But yet I had Matt Kemp in center.... lazy pop fly and i get him in the circle and the ball hits his glove and he drops it.....dude only made 5 errors last year. I don't get this game whatsoever.

so you picked out the 1 good year he had? Does that mean I can pick out his worst to prove you wrong or should you maybe look at his career or at least the last 3 as SCEA does and weight them accordingly. Lind has been bad more often than hes been good so not sure Im buying in just yet...

Disagree, but you already have your mind made up so I won't bother arguing my point.

this is way too much effort...26 hrs 23 vs RHP 3 vs LHP
23 hrs 20 vs rhp 3 vs lhp
35 hrs 27 vs rhp 8 vs rhp

I said he has decent even plus contact and power vs rhp...now care to look at his OBP, over all avg if that matters as it isnt really important to me as niether are rbis, and then look at his defensive skills on any website..and not fielding %. So Im still cool with my position

You can try and convince me but I'm basing this off from 2010-2012... this game has the same s*** going on. Groundball's down the line, CPU is already diving before the ball even comes off the bat. CPU however gets every hit down the line. It's obviously just me. So I will pipe down.

                                Sorry Bob,
I guess I am the one confused. So you are saying he can't hit lefties? When you said he's not very productive....maybe I took that as more of a broad statement. MY BAD
