Re: Too many ground rule doubles???

Yeah i've seen 6 just alone in the last 3 games i played in season mode, that hit the grass not the warning track, and bounce like a rubber ball right over the fence, pretty much just like you see in the video posted above me.. i can see if they hit the warning track, that would be no big deal, but these are hitting grass, in real grass fields and going over the wall on a high bounce. i'm also getting too many choppers hit behind the plate that go several rows back in the stands in each game played, with way too high a bounce.

After playing some more I still don't see a problem with ground rule doubles but I'm leading the majors in doubles. 2nd place is 20 behind me.

In my experience, they do seem to happen a little too frequently.

I've played a gazillion games including online games and it has not been an issue at all. I've seen a few of course but not any type of epidemic.

Re: Too many ground rule doubles???

I see it happen often. Its part of the reason i only have had 2 triples from entire time playing since i got the game.

I don't play the game as much but I was thinking the same thing as it has happened to me often I actually had 2 in one inning once cost me a run

I've played around 30 games and I see it a couple of times a game on average....sometimes 3-4 times a game. I've definitely had it happen in the same inning multiple times. It's annoying, but not a game ender. I do wonder if it's due to slider changes or something that needs to be patched.

I've probably played 20 or so games and I've seen at least 5, if that.

I've seen quite a few, but I haven't counted them per game to know whether they're really too many. Does anyone know what the real-life average is for ground-rule doubles per game?

there's way too many, and its because the ball is bouncing like a superball out there. I know the bounces in Fenway, and this ball is launching into the crowd at even dead center (almost a guaranteed triple in real life).

these bounces and the fact that AI OF play any bounce or wall ball perfectly and have rocket arms makes triples almost non existant.

hope these three things get addressed in any upcoming patch..

With my slider set, I still see many triples. I just have a problem with the ball bounces in general, and the way the outfielders can accelerate and charge a ball. I probably have too few doubles, in fact.

I recorded another video last night of a ground rule double which should not have been. If I have time later, I will upload it.

It happens to me in almost every game I play. Any gapper that's hit hard seems to bounce over and steal runs from me.

Re: Too many ground rule doubles???

Two issues with the ball bouncing that I see...

                              (1) The ball slows down a tad too much when the ball bounces off the ground at a small angle. This is one of the culprits of the ball down the line not becoming doubles often enough. Solution: the ball needs to lose less energy on each bounce for this type of hits.

                              (2) The ball bounces a tad too much when the ball bounces off the ground at a more perpendicular angle. This causes that high bouncing foul ball as well as ground rule doubles too often. Solution: the ball needs to lose more energy on each bounce for this type of hits.

So the new physics is a bit off at these extremes.

Hopefully when the first patch comes they'll be able to tweak the ball physics just a bit.
