Last year you could use them in online franchise mode. I haven't tried this year yet.

Re: G'MO's Custom Offset Camera 2012

Okay, tested this view last night and I love it.

Now, there is a tweak for those of us using the Red Sox as our team. If you leave the camera set up exactly as G'Mo set it, when a left handed pitcher comes in to face you, the release point for the lefty is right on the edge of the set of stands to the right field side of the hitters backdrop. Meaning, the ball gets released in the middle of the crowd, and you cannot see the ball.

So, when setting up the Custom Angle, everything is the same with height, but you need to move the camera just slightly enough so that the lefty pitchers have their arm slot still in the hitter's backdrop.

It is a tiny tweak, but enough to give you a fair chance, as I learned last night, Boone Logan is unhittable without adjusting the camera, because of the fans in section 34 and 35.

Aside from that tweak, the offset is great, it allows you to really see the pitches off the plate, and I think does a commendable job making inside pitches on the black tough to react to.. because guess what?

Pitches on the inside black are tough to react to.

Nice job on the offset G'Mo

You're welcome to everyone who likes the camera... That's what OS is all about - sharing and getting better!

Stealyaface, Thanks for the note on different background in Fenway. I never took that into consideration.

For everyone who likes it, what method of hitting are you using?

        1) Timing
        2) Zone
        3) Analog

I've used Timing and Analog and they both work great. Haven't used zone yet... Just wondering.

Does the camera have to be offset? Can I leave it centered?

Sure. But the "offsetness" gives you a more "3-D" look at pitches which helps judge speed and movement better.

I am not sure on the camera yet, but I did draw my first walk with the camera after quickly going down 0-2 so I guess that is something.

I am using Zone with this setup and am becoming more and more comfortable and consistent with it. I also have a setup with Timing but haven't played more than 1 game with it. I love Zone hitting so will probably stick with that.

                Thanks, G-Mo for this.

Thanks for the camera setup I use analog hitting and it seems that I recognize balls and strikes better. Tonight I hit Detroit against Chicago with jake peavy pitching. I struck out once the whole 9 innings and got 8 runs off of 13 hits and left 7 stranded. My strikeouts per nine are much higher than that usually. Thanks again.

That is a sharp looking camera!! It kind of reminds me of the default camera from MVP 2003.

I really don't have too much of a problem working counts and drawing walks with the straight on angles, but I like to occasionally change things up and for a fresh perspective, so I will definitely give this angle a try! It looks great!

Geronimo... Just wanted to make sure I didn't do something wrong... I set up the camera using Cutch...

My question is, does the camera changes with the height of each player? Reason I ask is because I used Adam Dunn in practice mode and the strike zone wasn't lined up even with the wall like it was for McCutchen (It was quite a bit higher then the wall). That is suppose to happen, right?

Oh yeah. Adam is a taller player so his strike zone is naturally higher. The camera doesn't move though so your fine

It's zoomed in all the way and set to the inside. It allows you to see the spin on the ball and gives you the most realistic feel of being a real batter. I need more games with more batters to work the kinks out but so far so good!
