Ive got some work too do with my Dodgers. 1st main focus will be on the corners. I will give Loney and Uribe until June to prove of value and if they cant, I will to trade for a David Wright type to hold down 3rd aand move Sands or Rivera to 1st.
Second, figure out who I want to close. I will give Guerra first crack but if he struggles, the job will go to Kenley Jansen.
Finally, 4-5 starters. I will have RDLR waiting in the wings just in case Harang or Capuano slip up.
In the offseason, I will make a play for the big names like Votto/Wright/Hamels/Cain in free agency as I expect the real life counter part to do the same.
Also, I hope by the 2013 season to have Zach Lee up or if I am out of it, he will he up by September.Comment

I'll be going with my Nationals again this year.I'm probably gonna start Bryce in AA and let him tear it up there before moving him to AAA.
Other than that I'll look for a lefty power bat for pinch hitting and maybe add a little AAA fodder.Last edited by NiceSlacks; 04-02-2012, 05:09 AM.Comment

Trying to determine the Mets' bullpen regarding my closer (Ramirez/Rauch/Francisco).Comment

I've had fun with my temporary Ms franchise but now I'll be starting my real one with the DBacks.
First order of business, try to trade for a long term 3b solution. I'm thinking a pitching prospect in Archie Bradley and a B position prospect for David wright would be perfect.Comment

Re: With the OSFM rosters almost upon us....
I'm taking my Rangers to a WS win.
As good as Feliz is, I'm going to move him back into the bullpen as a middle relief or a set-up man. So, signing Roy Oswalt or making an acquisition for a quality starter will be paramount.Comment

Re: With the OSFM rosters almost upon us....
That sounds good minus Casey Kelley, I'd feel like I'm taking advantage of the CPU. Do the pads have a outfield prospect I could substitute? Preferably a B or C guy. Not too familiar with their farm system.Comment

Re: With the OSFM rosters almost upon us....
My dilemma is I can't choose which team I want to run as this years. I am a hometown Brewers fan, but got into baseball loving the White Sox. I can't play as the Brewers because I watch them too much on tv. I like to choose a team with a nice farm system with a little below average major league squad. I love using prospects and this way I can build from within and find a piece or 2 here and there with guys I personally enjoy.
Indians (Got a lot of players I like and some former Brewers minors that could still amount to something if played right)
White Sox (fairly crappy all around, but a ton of picks in the draft)
Blue Jays ( Late pick, a nice Brewers minor star, but pretty loaded offensively and not too many holes really)
Rockies (looks intriguing with 2 top players and some work to be had through out)
Brewers (I was seriously thinking this could be the year with a few guys leaving, but getting Ramirez at 3rd blew that as I was gonna get David Wright to play 3rd, but now I can't really. I am a big Wright fan and thought he would finally be able to be moved from the Mets realistically, but no where to put him now...)
I was really thinking Indians this year and have run a test league with them, but as the OS rosters are knocking on our front door I have gone into unsure mode. Uggg, I still have a couple days to decide with the patch and rosters coming this week sometime, but it's all I can think about and can't bring myself to have a final answer. Haven't really had this issue before.Comment

Re: With the OSFM rosters almost upon us....
Seattle is not a bad call, I like Felix a lot and Ackley is someone I have used a time or 2 and beat me up pretty bad in my test run, single handedly beat me one game. Like Ichiro while he is still around and Montero is a nice prospect just beginning his career.
Thanks for adding another team to the list lol.Comment

Re: With the OSFM rosters almost upon us....
I'm having a tough time picking too. I can't be an NL team because the fast forward feature of pitching always catches me without someone warming up, and I'm an NL team on the other game. I also don't want a total rebuild project with a lousy payroll, because I have already done that on the other game.
AL team
Decent looking ballpark
No pathetic payrolls/rosters
No juggernauts.

As far as rosters go, you still have Hafner's contract, which sucks...
However, you have young pieces in Kipnis, Chisenhall, Masterson, Santana, etc. to build with. Sizemore is likely to be more of an asset in game than IRL if he stays healthy. Choo should rebound from last year. There are some rough spots, but it is overall a decent team and will be a challenge going up against Detroit in the AL Central.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment
