DD is a different beast. It's a three fold quandary, first people complained about you couldn't hit online. Now everyone is complaining about the offense. No win here well anyway.

Fixing the wind has allowed the ball the ball trajectories to become more natural you also have to remember than in DD you can have players with maxed out power and contact. There aren't any players in the MLB with ratings like that.

We fixed the change-up issue and it has brought the overall pitch speeds for dynasty pitchers down. In turn you now have more time to recognize the pitches since the medium pitch speed has been lowered. Thus leading to more hits.

Lastly the hitting difficulty in DD currently sits at Rookie. So you add all those three items up and there's a recipe for increased offensive production.

We plan on raising the hitting difficulty in DD, but we are still investigating what level it should be turned to.

I think the offense is very realistic in MLB 12.
I initially thought the offense was juiced too, after scoring 12 and 8 runs, in my first 2 games post-patch. Then my next 4 games were 5-1 (Won), 3-2 (Lost), 0-1 (L, 16 innings), and 2-0 (W). So I think, on average, they are realistic and not overly inflated. And I play with Detroit.

LOL, hopefully your offensive explosion will come soon. At least for a couple of games

I'm debunking the whole "offense is juiced post patch" thing.

Ive scored 8 runs in my last 4 games post patch playing exhibition games, with random teams, while I continue my assault on the win with every team trophy.

          the opposition? They've scored 10.

If anything it's now harder to score!

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Patch Impressions Thread

It's clear that the patch creates losing streaks. I'm close to getting swept by Anaheim and their darn pitching staff, which has literally held me to 13 hits in 2 games + the game I am 6 innings into now. I never got swept before the patch!!

Ok but on the serious side - and I'm being 100% serious here - Since the patch, I've had 2 successful throws from right field to get the runner out on first. I've only played about 6-8 games in this time period also. One was passable because I think the outfielders were shallow and it was a hard line drive, but the second one wasn't even hit that soundly, and the outfielders were definitely not playing shallow.

Before the patch I wasn't seeing it at all. I do have modified sliders, but they are modified in a way that would make it overall less likely, not more, and they are more or less the same sliders I had pre-patch, where I didn't see any successful throws from right field to first. Before the patch I had amassed about 60-80 games. Some of those were CPU-v-CPU, and some of those were me batting for both teams and whatnot, but either way I never had this problem at all prior to the patch, because I adjusted sliders to address it within hours of purchasing the game.

I'm not going to say, nor do I believe, the patch failed to fix it, or made it worse, or any of that presumptive nonsense. I'm just posting what I've seen....

Did we ever get a concrete answer on which wind report is correct? The one from the pause menu or the one from the game log? I checked after the patch and the wind direction still shows different directions on each screen. Sorry if this has already been answered.

Game log that should have been fixed in the patch.

Okay I'll check it again later when I play. Maybe I saw it wrong.

I'm not downloading the patch, until I know the schedule but has been fixed. I don't want to risk any freezing in my franchise.

ok, i don't wanna bring something up that has been brought up before but, i was playing games with scores of 2-1, 3-2, 1-0, pre patch, i have played exactly 2 games post patch, there has been a total of 19 homeruns in 18 innings, this game has so many problems that no one has even come close to finding an answer for, i know that russell said they didn't touch code for hitting or pitching, but then how does anyone explain those numbers, this is getting crazy, lol

I've played 5 games post patch on legend, haven't given up a single homerun, haven't hit one either.

You see what you wanna see. In your case you thrive on bitching and moaning about this game. If it sucks as bad as you seem to imply, quit playing.

Your words are eerily similar to my experience. I hadn't seen the "9-3 Groundout" either, pre-patch. And then I download the patch, start up a game and lo and behold, the very first batter singles to right off me. I took it on a quick hop and I fired to first to get the runner with plenty of time to spare. This was two days ago, and I just did it again today.

My sliders are adjusted also, and I don't remember if the fielders were shallow or not. Dumb thing is, as many videos as I record (at least 3 a game) I didn't for these.

Some of you guys need to download a good set of sliders......I haven't had any problem with too much offense or Homerun fests

I also haven't had a freeze at all and I am 10 games into my season

But as far as the offense issues......sounds like you guys need to get your sliders and difficulty level set correctly
