How so? I'm pretty sure I've had game start at night and day. I looked at the schedule for my next three game series and I'm scheduled for 7:00, 1:00, and 1:00 start times.

All teams weekday games are at 7 and all teams weekend games are at 1.Unless I got that backwards.Anyway its that way for all teams schedules throughtout the season.

Pre-patch ALL midweek games for ALL teams start at 7pm...all weekend games start at 1pm.

This is corrected with 1.06.

I'm sorry but really? The original PS3, you've had it since release, and you think a video game patch caused the YLOD? Do you have any idea how many original PS3's have had YLOD over the years? There's a reason Sony completely redesigned the PS3 and everything.

I'm not saying it's impossible the patch caused it, since I'm not a developer, but I do know enough of the PS3's history to say that it's a pretty silly assumption to make.

Unlikely doesn't mean relevant. It's also unlikely for someone's PS3 to go out while they are eating a chocolate sundae, that doesn't mean sundaes kill PS3s. Again I'm not discounting the possibility, I'm just trying to get you to think more logically.

I haven't even looked into specifics like schedule issues such as games not counting. I shudder to think I may have to start fresh. I have a "shell" franchise file saved with Hustlin's 25 man rosters where I went through and added 15 payers to all 30 teams to fill the 40 man rosters. That took me 3.5-4 hours to finish. I do not want to have to do that again. I'd almost rather just delete the patch off my hard drive and never worry about it. Isn't the only issue pre-patch the start time for Cubs games? If so, then I honestly couldn't care less since I'm not using the Cubs.

If you haven't actually started the season with your shell franchise, you should actually be ok. The issue arises when you get past the first games of the year and you then patch your franchise.

It is coincidence. Do you know how many times this happens? Somebodys PS3 craps out just as they get a patch, or they get a game and they blame it on the game or patch. Now if it started happening to other people, then yes maybe you could say it was the patch. As of right now you are the only person that has happened too. It sucks, and I feel sorry, but I really don't think it's the patch.

Yellow light of death .... first time I have ever seen this, and I've had the original PS3 since a few months after it came out.

I don't believe this.

I'm playing with an edited version of OSFM roster. I was in April in my franchise.

Installed the patch tonight, and picked up a game in the 7th innning, from my save file.

After the game, when I went to save my Sliders (had made changes during the game), the machine abruptly shut down.

When I re-started, I got the Yellow Light of Death.

I have played with this PS3 for over three years, sometimes for hours and hours in a day. It is well-ventilated.

I can only assume that there is some connection between this patch problem and my Yellow Light.

How would you make that assumption? What does a software update have to do with an hardware issue? This assumption makes absolutely no sense at all. If it was a software issue that causes a hardware issue like this, given that PS3's are basically all the same under the hood, it would be giving everyone a YLOD.

Agreed. if you know anything about the technology it makes no sense at all. It's the equivalent of saying the patch makes 2+2=7.

So what is the drawback of not restarting my season? Is it just that I cannot look at some of the teams schedules or is there more to this? Thanks in advance.

Yeah luckily I had only played one game in my franchise, so for me starting over was no big deal.

I did test a brand new franchise from scratch and simmed the whole season, I didn't see any scheduling lockup issues and this time all teams had 162 games counted for them in the standings.

I was only a few games in myself. I will just re-start and take it from there.

Don't know if this has already been posted , but I'm happy that Russell & the team at SCEA are working on the freezing issue. It gives me confidence that I won't need to start my franchise over again!

I think it's pretty obvious now, that the problem is with the patch changing the schedule, IE the dates that some of the games were played. It may NOT be strictly the opening week games, IE the Marlins, A's and Seattle schedule. Someone said they had an issue on April 28th? Someone would need to check the schedules of ALL teams both pre and post patch, and see where the dates changed....

What might be happening, is the unfortunate few who downloaded the patch, and then loaded a franchise that was ON, or within a day of a date that the schedule changed, are freezing. Those that weren't on or near a changed date, are not having any freezing issues, and won't from that point on, because they haven't played any games that had the date changed....and are so far past ones that did, that it isn't having an effect (so long as you don't try to view the box score).

This would also explain why people who were still in spring training are having no freezing issues, and people who were PAST the first week, but not past April 28th are ok....People who are near April 28th are freezing, and people who are past that date are ok as well.....

I myself have not downloaded the patch, nor will I, until I know that things have been worked out. I am enjoying my Tiger's franchise way too much to risk losing it. (I'm almost to the end of May).

Can anyone help or have insight into my problem, please read. After I downloaded the patch I can't play my RTTS season. When I load it everything is good but as soon as I click on "sim to next plate apperance or try and view the schedule my PS3 completly freezing.
Has this happend to anyone else since they downloaded the patch?

So. If what I am reading is correct, my twins franchise is in august won't freeze? Gonna cross my fingers and hope I don't have to restart.
