Ok guys. I finally have an a pretty definite answer to the freezing problem. I played last night and it was just fine but I had not tried too look at a boxscore. I looked at the boxscore for the Astros and everything was just fine. But then when I looked at the boxscore for the Mariners is when the game froze.

So do not look at the boxscores in the month of April for the Mariners or Athletics and you should be fine. Looking at boxscores for other teams for the month of April is fine. Just don't do it for the Mariners or Athletics and if you happened to play a game against the Mariners or Athletics then don't look at the boxscores in the month of April for that team either.

EDIT: Just did a test franchise with the Athletics. Simmed the first week of the season. No problems. Looked at the boxscores. No problems.

We know it has been talked about since yesterday, but it is nice you see for yourself now. Again, you can start a new franchise after the patch and have no problems.

Yep. Now that we know what is causing the problem and how to avoid it I think some of the more violent posters need to apologize for ranting and raving.

I was only able to test my old franchise once yesterday, when I tried today, went to look at the schedules, and it froze on the White Sox. Made a new franchise right after, and simmed to where I was in my previous franchise (April 20th @BOS) so far, so good. But I will avoid looking at any boxscores for the Mariners/Athletics. Both franchises are 30 team control

It appears that NOT everyone continuing a Franchise is experiencing the freezing issue. Considering this, it is crucial that people having this issue go into great details specifying the circumstances surrounding it.

To add to the below, please add whether or not the freezes are happening during an existing or new Franchise, whether or not the freezes happen while trying to load from the main menu; freezing while trying to ENTER a game, freezing trying to sim forward, or freezing by pressing "View(ing) Today's Games."

*EDIT* Also include which rosters you are using.

I turn on PS3, go directly into the Show Game. First thing I do is go to continue franchise. The bar downloads to 100%. I hit X to continue, game freezes. I can not actually enter my franchise at all. I do know that I was in the middle of a series in April against the Mariners. Not sure what game, could be 2nd or 3rd. I'm using OSFM rosters, with my own edits and 25 man roster cut from 40 man. I use custom Sliders. Single team franchise using my Tigers. My franchise was existing before patch. Any other information I can not think of.

The fact that you are in the middle of playing a series against the Mariners is your problem and that it's still April. You're screwed. Sorry!

Yea, this is the first time I have read this forum about this issue. All the problems point to the fact that I have to restart. Im in April, playing the mariners, and have played a series against the Royals. It seems as if I am in the minority though that cant even load my franchise.

Well, after 2 patches and now the second one potentially can ruin weeks of work is not right. People at this point have every right to be mad at SCEA. No developer should get a pass no matter how much heart and effort is put into place. At the end of the day how much was this patch tested considering its not even working with the Vita? Why would you release it knowing it also breaks your handheld version which is being advertised quite a bit on TV.

I'm about 6-7 games in my franchise and I'm afraid to continue. I played 2 games last night with the White Sox post patch and didn't encounter any freezing. I can start all over again, but really don't feel like it considering that some of my games took 1.5-2 hours each to play through. My goal this year was to get through 162 games which I haven't done in many years.

Trust me. Im into August iny franchise and I've played three quarters of the games. I have no desire to start over and to be honest if I do have to imma be pissed and probably will just shelf the game.

If the patch corrupted someone's files and your franchise is nerfed ya that sucks I'd be choked. I've read thru all the posts and that isn't the case for most people.

My point was, let's maybe hear from russell before freaking out over speculation.
If he says franchises are lost I'll be the first to join the mob.

Till then I've removed the patch and am continuing on with no problems.

Quick question, I started a franchise with the jays before the patch, downloaded the patch, I'm still in April and have a series coming up (in April) against Seattle. Will this mess up my franchise? Thanks.

Sounds like I'm going to have to restart.

I took a chance this morning and loaded the patch but quickly found it frozen... I decided to delete the patch(1.06), which seemed to overwrite my previous patch(the 1.05 one, first one)... so right now Im without a patch but I can still play my franchise just fine... Seeing how much time and effort I put into my franchise Im not about to restart now... Ill wait for a new patch that works properly before loading it... For now Play on! Yay...

I don't know if anybody is having this problem. I've been reading and noticed it's mostly franchises that are already in progress. but I started a brand new franchise with OSFM opening day rosters and the patch and now i'm having freezing issues as well after completion of a game it just locks up and i have to restart my playstation. Didn't have ANY freezing issues before this patch. Very disappointed and I hope they fix this problem or the game is broken for me

The fix should work for you, there's no reason the fix won't work for everyone who hasn't already saved their game post-patch.

Is there any workaround for Cloud Saves if you are playing a Franchise on both the PS3 and Vita?
