I downloaded the patch 2 days ago and like many others who play RTTS, I could not advance to the next game without it freezing. I went to Save Data Utility and Game Data Utility and deleted everything but my RTTS season and sliders.

Now i can play without any problems.

Obviously do not download the patch when they ask you again.

ok, here's my situation, i downloaded the patch, i used the downloaded roster update from ehh (i think opening day) so i played my first game as the yankees, chalk me up for a loss, i sim all the way till saturday the 14th, every game is a loss, im 0-8, so i play sundays game vs the angels, weeeeeeee haaaaaaa i win!!!!!, i push x a few times to skip through the stuff at the end right when the menu that says exit is about to pop up, BAM FREEZE, im not very happy about this at all, from everything i was reading i woulda been fine, uggghhhhhh, erggggggggg

Not really sure this is patch related.

well, i have only experienced 1 freeze in a month of playing, that 1 freeze was after the patch, it could be coincidence but if i play another game and it freezes, i would not want to be around me for awhile, RAGEEEEE QUITTTTTT!!!!!!

Well just went to start a new season post patch update. Used custom roster went to browse free agents and guess what FREEZE.

teddy, according to the pro's on here (most of them), that would count as a coincidence, so my suggestion to you is, try again, if it happens again then there might be a bigger problem then what is coming from some of the more "experienced" people on this sight

I need some help from someone that's more knowledgeable about this kind of stuff than me. I'm referring to this quoted post I made last night. My PS3 crapped out and, after doing some more reading on what exactly the 80010514 error is, it appears it's a firmware issue. There was something corrupt on my hard-drive and, even after doing a file restore, my PS3 just wouldn't read any game I tried.

What I'm getting at is, would the patch be a firmware issue? Or is it something completely different? I'm nervous about downloading the patch when I get a new PS3.

You know what is funny...my ps3 crapped out yesterday as well and wouldn't read any disks. I tried everything ( system restore, reset to factory settings) but nothing helped. For me, I was trying to exit out of batting practice and it was stuck at the loading screen before it gets to the main menu. I left it like that for 15 mins and after a while I went ahead and shut my ps3 down using the power button. After that, my ps3 wouldn't read any disk/game. I chalked it up to a failed blu ray drive/laser an went ahead and just bought a new ps3. The ps3 that died was a slim model and was about 1.5 yrs old.

I'm not saying that the patch screwed up my ps3, but it weird yours crapped out as well. Go figure.

Are you using 30 team control? I just started a new franchise with single team control and have no problems.

Single team control. It's a downloaded roster the OSM one. Could it be because it says invalid roster in roster control?

Btw this is the first freeze I've experienced since its release.the game that is

Well, that explains why I saw you signing in and out every two mintues yesterday. Sucks that you had to buy a new PS3, especially since your Slim was about as old as mine.

Under certain conditions, I don't remember what they were, the FA freeze was prevalent pre-patch. It's been reported and is in the bugs thread since day 1.

I had my game freeze once while I was eating gravy fries. Where the gravy fries the reason for the freeze?

Well my roster is the OSFM spring roster. I don't know. Never heard of invalid roster.

I think, and I am not totally sure, invalid roster just means either you have invalid lineups or your roster sizes aren't right. Like say 26 players on the MLB roster, etc.

Right but would that alone cause the freeze? I tried to auto fix rosters but nothing happens. Also how do avoid the free agent freeze didn't realize that was a bug since day 1

It shouldn't cause it. But who knows at this point.

I don't remember the fa solution or what caused the issue.
