Re: Da Astros
There were a couple of big namers in the off season, but I couldn't justify the money I would have needed to spend (for example James Shields would have been a reallllllly nice ace). I'm hoping I have a decent season and maybe add a guy or two through trades, and possibly a decent FA at seasons end.Comment

Re: Da Astros
I resigned most of the core guys as well. I let some probable career minor leagues walk because I didn't feel like paying them 800k for that role (or anywhere near there). I did also get a lot of guys locked into decent contracts. I got Altuve for under 5 million a year to prevent an escalating salary which made me happy.

Re: Da Astros
So I offered just offered him 4.9 and his interest was up. I didn't expect it, but I will certainly take it. I actually got a lot of guys for significantly less than they were asking. I did have to bite the bullet on a couple guys though like Norris.Comment

Re: Da Astros
Not really. He was asking for 5.4 or something 5.6 maybe (which is what I signed him to in my old franchise). However I was planning on renewing his contract instead to save some money (because correct me if I'm wrong but with under 3 years MLB service you can't sign with another team right?).

Re: Da Astros
Anyone see Harrell win again tonight? 8 innings and 1 run. Not to mention he should be batting clean up with his .200 averageComment
