Re: Da Astros
He has played 23 games and is hitting (.230/.284/.338) 2 HR's / 9 RBI's. He struggles vs RHP with a .212 AVG. He just doesn't a consistent MLB bat for me and I'm considering trading him.Madden Breakdowns Full YOUTUBE Playlist

Re: Da Astros
26 games, 86AB's, 3HR, 16RBI, .244 BA
Nothing special but he is holding onto the catchers spot for now. This is also after a couple years of progression mind you. He seems to come through in the clutch for me at times then go 0-10 lol.Comment

Re: Da Astros
I hear you and I do as well. However for now I'm not looking for a replacement .. especially at the catcher position. He plays good defense and throws runners out frequently so I give him a bit of leeway until I can either draft or sign a better guy.Comment

Re: Da Astros
If you still have him on your roster past 2012 you probably already signed him to a multiple year deal at the end of year 1. So you have to give him a shot.
If you are still playing in year 1, (NotFat), then you have to make a choice with this being his last year.
My plan with Castro (unless he really turns it around quickly and gets hot) is to package him in a deal with Wandy or (Lee) come early July. If he doesn't fit into any potential deals there, I'd be willing to trade him straight up for a pair of younger C prospects (whatever positions I miss on in the draft).
Right now I'd imagine teams would want him to be a guy that plays immediately and starts; but currently in my franchise, I don't see any teams that would be takers. I'm hoping a team in contention, gets a long term injury to their starter catcher, and looks at Castro as a good option.
A team like the Yankees comes to mind (with that short left field porch for lefty batters)Madden Breakdowns Full YOUTUBE Playlist

Re: Da Astros
See the problem with Castro, and everyone knows it; he isn't ever going to a stud. He is an average to below average player offensive player who lacks pop. It's frustrating because you look at his ratings and hope for more production (or even a hot streak) but he falls short most of the time.... It's a shame because he is young and should be the perfect lefty bat to compliment JD down the road...But that's not going to happen.
