Neal,

Let me begin by apologizing for not getting back to you sooner. Unfortunately I missed this. Secondly, what would it take to pry him from us? How about a new wife and set of kids?

I would like to see what you have to offer? Also if you don't mind, send me stats of the current players on the Angels playing at the following positions; 3rd, LF, RF, and DH.

From a personal stand point. I am running an Angels franchise. I play Trumbo at all positions listed. I use Alberto Callaspo as a late game defensive replacement in close games. As everyone knows, we can't get rid of Wells cause of salary. So I plan on letting Hunter walk in FA, move Wells to right, and put Trumbo in LF and sign a 3rd baseman. I'm only in May so I'm waiting a bit.

My untouchables for me ; Weaver, Trout, and that's really it. Trumbo is right there all seriousness. But come up with a package. Just include your stats and my teams stats please.

Any way, on to the matter at hand, it it's now July 18th, you are 46-47 6.5 gb of the division and 7 gb of the wild card. Callaspo is starting at 3rd batting .274 but with an OBP of .356 10 HR 36 RBIs, Wells is in left batting .245 but leading the team in HRs (18) and Rbis (49). Hunter is in Rf batting .288, 9 homers, and 31 rbis. Looks like Trout has played the most games as DH batting .247 with 4 triples, 3 HRs, and 24 rbis. Weaver and Santana have been lights out with 8 and 9 wins respectively and each with a sub 2.85 ERA. Williams is scuffing a little bit with a 5.84 ERA and only 3 dubyas. Kyle Farnsworth is your closer at the moment and he is having a tough time with 18 saves in 27 chances with a 6+ ERA.

We would be willing to send you our closer Joel Hanrahan a perfect 18 for 18 in saves with a sparkly 1.65 ERA as well as a combination of Bedard (5-7 4.15 ERA), Burnett (4-10 3.85 ERA), catching prospect Tony Sanchez (B pot. .314 35 rbi in AAA) or SS/3B prospect Josh Harrison (B pot. AAA allstar .299 39rbis).

Before I was just telling the teams about young players I liked that were either doing only ok in minors or horrible in majors. I just took quick looks at rosters to find young good players. I wasnt saying I was going to get Harper. I was just saying he was interesting, given the fact that he was doing bad. Sorry for the confusion.

Now getting down to the brass tax. If you want Trumbo, I wouldn't except Burnett or Beard as part as any deal, as they are on the down slope of the careers. As I stated in our previous conversation, we do have plans for Trumbo and he is one of our nearly untouchables. Alberto is in his walk year. We all know Vernon won't be moved cause no GM is stupid enough to take him and his contract. Oh wait, I guess Stoneman was. Closer wise we are high on this Walden kid.

We do like you catcher Sanchez. We are pretty shallow there with only Conger as our eye on the prize. Harrison would be a maybe (if we allow Trumbo to go). According to our scouts Harrison has played a little 2b and LF. Unless you sweeten the deal with removing said pitchers then I don't know.

Could I maybe interest you in the rental of these players for the stretch run;

RF - Hunter (can provide great veteran leadership down the stretch run as well, he has even stated, he'd move to LF if it was for the good of the club)
SP - Haren (can jump in and be the "ace" of your staff)

We would not be interested in any rentals as we are a long way out of the race, I through out Bedard and Burnett as I thought you might want to replace Williams for the stretch run as you could make a strong playoff push, same with Hanrahan. Cole, Taillon, and Bell are our untouchables, maybe we could make something else work with Harrison, Sanchez, and one of our other prospects ie Marte OF, Grossman OF, Allie SP but has backend of the bullpen ability, or Heredia SP all B pot. Just let me know if I'm close.

It is unlikely that we will make any deal this year, but would be interested in trading Goldschmidt at some point in the future if he still interests you. Trevor Bauer is untouchable but Archie Bradley could be traded in the future as well.

Here is my first official trade proposal to you. I feel this will help you fill your needs in your minor league system, while also helping out your big league club.

Marlins Receive:
Realmuto (Catcher who's a B prospect, has some pop to his bat, if he cleans up defensively and works on taking pitches and walking, then he might be one of the top 3 catching prospects next year.)

Rasmussen (A lefty that was in a college rotation with Cole and Bauer, has decent stuff, Fastball, Curveball, Changeup, and a Slider). His fastball will touch 93-94. Needs to work on his command before he can be a guaranteed starter. He's either going to be a back of the rotation starter or a situational lefty.)

Oviedo (Basically we believe he just needs a new start somewhere else, and we think he can be your future closer, as he has the stuff and ability to do it)

As all 3 of those players(except Oviedo as he is in class A) are doing horrible, we don't think that will work! We like Logan Morrison though. He is hitting .230 with 15 hr and 46 RBI on the MLB level. We also like Yelich. Even though he is hitting .223 with 8 hr and 40 RBI at AA, we believe he could do good in our system. We also like Perio. He is hitting .260 with 4 hr and 24 RBI at AA, and Matt Sominguez interests us also. He is hitting .256 with 4 hr and 24 RBI as a bench player on the MLB team. Get back to us!

Surprising that we have Goldschmidt down in AAA, especially given Overbay's struggles. We would have interest in Ben Zobrist, but can't say we'd get much use out of any of the other three. Our bullpen is fairly solid and Carlos Pena is not getting any younger. Would rather continue to build for the future.

2B is a major long term weakness for our organization, both at the major league and minor league levels and we would have significant interest in Neil Walker. Unfortunately, Aaron Hill is under contract through 2013 and would likely have to be a part of any trade that includes a second baseman.

Paul Goldschmidt is by no means untouchable, but 1B remains a weakness within this organization and we are high on his power potential. The Pirates have a number of intriguing prospects including the arms of Cole and Taillon that we'd have interest in, as well as Starling Marte and Josh Bell in the minor league system (assuming they are on the roster you use).

Let us know if there is interest in other players in addition to Goldschmidt.

We were hoping we could just give up Walker to get Goldschmidt in return, but htat is quite ok if that won't work at this time. We also have a high interest in Archie Bradley 2-5 3.61 ERA 31 K's 26 BB's 42.1 IP. We also have high interest in Gerardo Parra, batting .378 6 HR 14 RBIs and 82 ABs, so it looks as if he still isn't a full time player. We don't want to give up Cole or Taillon as we want to build around them. Players we may give up consist of Tabata, Marte, Walker, Alvarez, and some B pitching prospects.

EDIT: Those players I listed are just players I might give up, and are not definite trade pieces for me yet. I am just thinking about it. But you can certainly request to get one of them in return I would just have to think about it a little
