Re: A trade acceptance/rejection thread idea

wPA, pokerplaya was trying to tell you that the post about dealing Bautista was made by someone using Toronto in their franchise looking for a reply from the Dodgers rep, Pimpinpidgeon8.

Also, I'll act as the interim GM of the Pirates to help get the ball rolling.

        Hey Ned,

After discussing things with the Rogers Communications, earlier this morning, they have allowed me to consider trades for Jose Bautista. I explained to them that we can make a farm system ranked first by former ESPN writer and current owner of the popular website minorleagueball(.com)owner John Sickels prior to this season could be an even stronger system. This trade would also benefit the Blue Jays organization to produce even more for the upcoming years, while helping yours in a 'win now' mode. I was able to convince them that the trade will be okay, so we are on! Thankfully, Jose does not have a no-trade clause, nor 10-and-5 rights, so I will not need his permission. With that said, I propose the following offer, of mostly MLB players, as per your request.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will receive the rights and services of Jose Bautista, paying the entire contract. In return, the Toronto Blue Jays will receive the contracts and services of first baseman James Loney, right fielder Andre Eithier, right-handed starting pitcher, and left-handed pitching prospect Chris Reed.

Hope to hear back from you soon,

        ~Alex A.

(Side note: If anybody submits propose a future deal to the Blue Jays, please state if you have minor league rosters downloaded; that will affect how I deal with you.)
thank you this is looking great. i dont fully understand how outsiders can add to this or exactly what im supposed to do, but thank you. Am i allowed to ask which RHP i should ask?

The Dodgers will not give you 4 players for Jose Bautista. Andre Ethier is producing very well this year. One of the following two trades we would do ...

Jose Bautista for Andre Ethier, James Loney and Chris Reed
            Or
Jose Bautista for Ethier, Loney, Harang and a lower level prospect

Re: A trade acceptance/rejection thread idea

Just want to clear up the "template" because it seems some people weren't so sure and people are new. Basically, it is just a "bolded letterhead". The reason I suggested this "bolded letterhead" is to signify it from other posts as actually being part of a "team-to-team" negotiation. I will post an example of what I would do if I was an "outside user" to use the thread. (Think I can quote enough? ) Here's an example, remember I play with Detroit.

                        TO: Kansas City Royals Organization
                        FROM: Detroit Tigers Organization

                        RE: Availability of Chris Getz?

BODY: Our organization is looking to solidify our second base position. A top prospect I would consider including in a deal is "A" Prospect -- 3B Nick Castellanos, as a starting point for negotiations. Please let me know if we can do business.

                        =====

That's really it. Now, anyone who is a representative of a team will see those bold messages. It will attract attention away from other discussion, as because this is like an "advanced" Trade Discussion chat, almost with a role-playing game aspect -- there will be other posts, and we don't want to stifle quality talk, but we want to be able to accomplish our purpose efficiently as well.

I also was able to use the BODY to explain my situation or what *I* was trying to accomplish and gave their representative a place to start. This will allow for many different franchise dates, statuses, and situations.

Just remember, the base idea is just to know if someone playing with the team you are trading with thinks your trade is a fair deal. That, and to have fun and get more out of this game.

                        -----

Sorry that I was so late on my login tonight, I worked until closing and my girlfriend is staying over tonight. Hung out with her until her eyes couldn't stay open anymore. But please, if anyone has any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask, I know this is a new idea, and it can be complicated at first glance -- but it is actually really simple and will be useful for all sim players.

Thanks to everyone for their patience, their assistance in the project, and especially thank you to our brand new team representatives!

You are allowed to ask whatever you like. The info you will be receiving from the representative should be what he would do if he was going to be playing the team you are trading with. So, in this instance, would this Dodger player do the trade. So, absolutely you can figure out which RHP would be acceptable.

We want you to be able to go into your franchise and make the trade with confidence that you have been as fair and "sim" as humanly possible. Thanks for being here, sorry you kind of had to be a "guinea pig" but I am hopeful that you are getting what you are looking for out of the project!
