    i just thought of this.

maybe instead of having potential drop more drastically, just have progression be mainly base on performance. this way if an A potential player only hits .230 for his minor league season, he will improve very smally or not at all

Others have mentioned it as well, but the crowd could really use some work. more variation in the type of people, and their reactions throughout the game. I was playing in Washington yesterday and while winning 10-0 i noticed fans in the crowd were still jumping up and down and waving their arms and acting like the score was 10-0 the other way.

That being said, here are the changes which I would like to see:
        1. RTTS – The ability to “save” your face and physical characteristics as a model and then use such in creating subsequent RTTS players with different positions, characteristics and players. As it is now you have to create yourself from scratch each time.
        2. Franchise – Add at least one additional level (Advanced A) which is playable bringing players per team to 115.
        3. Add additional minor league stadiums which are included in the game.
        4. Make major and minor league coaches and managers editable so you can change their appearance, name and number and link them to the team.
        5. Include more additional hair colors (shades) and head hair styles.
        6. Ability to upload to the vault a whole team (now all 90 players and coaches) and to import such team downloaded from the vault or otherwise saved into a roster in a single step. In other words one could replace one “team” set with another in a single step.
        7. In Spring Training include, to a more limited extent, also non roster invitees and additional non-roster players. During 2012 in fact Detroit used many AA and advanced A players who were not included in the roster and list of non-roster invitees in 2-4 games. This was especially true of position players.
        8. Create a better player potential program which includes both a theoretical “ceiling” and a probability of reaching the ceiling and make such system dynamic. I would further making it possible to see only the starting potential and keeping the changing value hidden so people have to try and determine what is happening based on the players actual results.
        9. Ability to import players, teams and rosters into future versions of the game so that each year historic rosters do not have to be recreated from scratch.
        10. Make player potential editable.
        11. Ability to create your own league structures with variable numbers of leagues, divisions and teams including editing the cities and names of the teams (including minor league teams) , uniform colors etc. so one can truly recreate old historic leagues when there were less teams and divisions.
        12. Include sound files for the names of all players who play in AAA during 2012 to the extent such names are not already included.
Those are my “wish list” suggestions.

This game should have tournament mode. It should have pool play then it should seed the teams into bracket play. And have a double elimination tournament.

I would like to see dynamic physical abilities. the way it is now, my 6'5 180 lb. 18 Y.O. SP I drafted in the 1st round will stay a twig for his whole career, when in reality he would probably gain 40 lbs after going through a major league workout and conditioning program. Teams love drafting these kinds of players, you always hear the term "projectable body" in scouting reports, it can add another dimension to player progression. For pitchers, the added weight usually comes with the ability to maintain or even gain velocity, with the risk of losing athleticism and/or command. For hitters it usually means gaining power and sacrificing speed.

I would also like to see physical abilities decline with age, while baseball skills increase. Usually when a hitter is past his peak, his reactions become slower but his baseball knowledge continues to grow. Using in-game ratings as an example, contact would decrease while discipline increases. For pitchers, velocity decreases while movement increases.

Dynamic physical ability would also play a part in injuries. If a hitter hurts his wrist, he would lose some power. If a pitcher has a shoulder injury, he would lose some velocity. I've read that 2K has a nagging injury system, hopefully something like that could be implemented as well.

Anything to make the game more human and realistic, I am down for. Player development feels a little robotic, there really isn't any human element to it since what you see is pretty much what you get; there's hardly any variability.

Add mouth guards option to customize player! A lot more players wear them like Josh Hamilton, Elvis Andrus, and Derek meter among others. I wear one when I play and a lot of other hi schoolers are starting to wear one too.

                  - Option to pinch hit for pitcher before he comes to the plate, similar to the option to bring in a reliever before your pitching half of the inning even starts.

                  - It would be nice to see a little bit more attention paid to pitch repertoires. More 2-seamers as a primary pitch, more 2 and 3 pitch pitchers, realistic fastball/changeup speed differentials, etc.

                  - Seperate susceptibility to injury and stamina with two different attributes.

                  - I'd love for rosters to be expanded to include an A ball and Rookie League team, even if there were no team names and they weren't playable. That way, during Franchise we could set their lineups and rotations and watch their simulated stats and attributes develop.

                  - Can we get some Expos throwback unis for for Nats? I miss the Expos

I would like to see in next year game 5 umpires for the World Series Game and Rain Delays or Rainouts! That would make the game complete! Plus I like to see in the fanchise mode when you trade a player can you choose cash for the player! In the gameplay mode Please keep Classic for Batting and Pitching!

                    Thanks,

Different potentials for different ratings; like a ceiling. Things like vision and discipline should be able to progress while things like speed and arm strength should already be at the ceiling.
                      Vision: Current: 45 Pot: 64
                      Speed: Current: 76 Pot: 76
                      Like that.

A lot of these suggestions for Franchise mode are really in depth. And, as a gaming company, they probably want to keep it as simple as possible to appeal to as many people as possible, instead of just hardcore baseball fans (such as us). So, there should be difficulties for Franchise! But if you want to do a simple Franchise but play on say Hall of Fame, then you can do that. A difficulty just for the managing aspect of it.

Easy: Easy to trade for good players/high potential players. Potential scale remains the same as now. Less injuries. Easy to sign Free Agents. Simple scouting(automatically have all Potential ratings unlocked).

Medium: Trading and signing Free Agents is a little more difficult. Potential ratings have + and -(A+, A, A-, etc.). Scouting that is a little more in depth, but only players that will be in the current draft.

Hard: Executing trades is like real life: in order to receive best players, you have to trade top prospects, and vice versa. Potential for each seperate attribute (Contact Pot: 90, Power Pot: 75, etc.). Realistic amount and severity of injuries. Hard scouting (have players that might not be in the current draft like it is now, players that may be hard to sign because they are going to college or staying in college). HARD to sign top Free Agents. Have signing bonuses for draft picks. Anything else people have mentioned that might be too in depth for the average person.

And fix CPU trade logic for ALL difficulties.

This is a simple thing, but it would be a big help when constructing rosters.

Currently one can export from a roster only players not created with SCEA faces. I would like to have the ability to also export players with SCEA faces as it then makes it possible to export such a player from one roster and then import him into another.

Add extensions in season for players and managers! If you guys did this, it would make the game probably as close to perfect as possible!

I would love to see the announcers get updated. In that same area I play franchise and after I win a world series or do anything really I would like to hear the announcers refrence my stats from the year prior not the outdated stats that the game statrted with. Also being that I play franchise I like to go back and lok through all of the players stats from years prior it would be nice to actually be able to pull those up and even see the teams the guy played for. Some roster improvement from year to year would be nice as well. I would also love more fan cut scenes. Have a guy run on the field or just weird stuff in the stands would be fun. I always like that in NHL 09 I think it was during stoppige in play a guy would sometimes propose to a girl and sometimes she said no and the commintators actually commented on it. Doesn't effect the game but I always got a laugh out of it. Lastly I would like suspensions, weather it be for beans or even through in off the field issues.

Re: What Does MLB 13 The Show Need to do Next Year to Satisfy Your Baseball Gaming Ne

I just have a couple things to add (mainly for Franchise Mode) that have been in other sports games I have played.

                                1) I like how Madden eventually has retired players come back as coaches. It's a nice little feature. For example, after X-amount of years, Tom Brady comes back as a coach that is above average in coaching QBs and offense in general. For The Show, it would be like having Chipper Jones or Derek Jeter come back as a coach a few years after retirement and having plus ratings in some hitting attributes that could improve your team if they are on your staff in some capacity.

                                2) In MVP 05, I thought it was a nice touch when they added "Baseball America Top 100 Prospect" to some of the top talent in the minors. All-Star Baseball 2004 had a similar feature where you could go to a screen and see the top prospects at each position, for each team, and for the entire MLB. In the MVP franchise, it was always neat when playings a minor league game and the opposing pitcher had a "Top Prospect" icon next to his stats as he warmed up before the game, or when a hitter would come to the plate and have the Top Prospect icon above his stat line.

                                3) Less important but something I've always wanted since I started playing The Show back in 2006 was the ability to edit potential. I know that this is basically impossible, but if only one improvement could be made from this year's game to next year's, I'd want editable potential. I know it's likely to never happen, so I'm not too worried about this ever getting into the game.
