Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread

Hey guys quick question. Could I start a franchise now using osfm rosters, then transfer players from Scott's roster when it's released?

      No. :Iwish:

Does anyone really care where I sent this from?

Tbh I'd put them in A ball for a month in a half at least so that they can focus on training assignments, but other than that, it sounds solid.

yeah i read something about that in the thread.....couple of months of A-ball wont hurt....im just eager to get them live game action but i know it's a marathon and not a sprint with prospects

Definitely. What are the prospects like?

Finished my first draft in franchise with the Twins. I did absolutely terrible. The only one worth note is a Catcher I got in the 2nd round. 6'5 230 lb catcher (same stature as my current one, Joe Mauer.)

He's a D overall so he needs lots of time to develop. I want to have him ready in 5 years when Morneau will be gone and I can move Mauer to first. Any advice?

Year 1: A ball. Use training assignments to shape his play style.
2: Up to AA in May. Play there for the year.
                  3: Play in AA.
4: Move up to AAA. Add to 40 Man, give chance in September.
5: Let him have the job in spring. If he loses it, bring him back up in May, around 150 ABs.

Do you guys have any advice for how to handle low overall high potential guys that are around 22? For instance, F's all the way around except in Potential and he's 22. I don't have an example as I'm waiting for Scott's roster, but I always seem to come across one of these guys in a draft. I worry just because it may take them a little longer to get to a higher overall, and since they're already 22 they may not be a C until age 28 or so... I've had this problems before when simming some franchises, and I was just wondering if anyone knew how to handle this?

Those guys are the worst.... I'm gonna have to think about that. That's tough.

Do contact, Fielding and MAYBE power training assignments. Good luck rebuilding!
