Re: Those get up and yell moments...
I played this game tonight in my franchise. I play as the Indians and was playing against the Red Sox at Fenway. Kevin Slowey vs. Clay Bucholz was the pitching matchup.
Fall behind 1-0 in bottom of the 2nd but take the lead right back in the top of the 3rd when Choo and Kipnis go back to back. From there, the game was quick. Slowey was really solid, he went 5.2 and only gave up one run. I think just about half my outs were loud ones. Diving catch my Crawford in left on a smash by Hafner, diving catch by Pedroia at 2nd on a hit by Jason Donald. Multiple liners right at Adrian Gonzalez, very frustrating.
But it was 2-1 going into the 6th when Hafner hit a solo homer to give me a little cushion. I'm feeling good about things. 3-1 Tribe.
Go into the bottom of the 8th, Frank Herrmann is in his 2nd inning of relief and gets the first two outs easily. Get ahead of Ryan Lavarnway 1-2 and decide to go up and in to tie him up with a fastball... and I hit him. No harm done, I got the 9 hitter coming up and there's 2 outs still right? Well they pitch hit Jacoby Ellsbury who was getting the night off and Ellsbury takes one out to dead centerfield. Tied 3-3. Pedroia pops up, inning over.
Top of the 9th: Johnny Damon doubles and Carlos Santana singles off Rich Hill, we take the lead right back 4-3. I pinch run for Santana with Asdrubal Cabrera (he's been struggling to the point I've benched him). I swing at the first pitch with Hafner and hit into a double play. Jose Lopez grounds out, inning over, but we have the lead going to the bottom of the 9th.
I could use Cabrera's glove so I move him to short, Jason Donald from short to 2B and take out Kipnis and put Lou Marson at catcher. Chris Perez comes in for the save.
Adrian Gonzalez leads off for Boston. The first pitch from Perez, I knew I hung the slider as soon as a took my thumb off the right stick. Gone, tie game 4-4. No more damage in the inning.
I got the bottom 3rd of the order up in the top of the 10th, 0 for 9 on the day. Scott Atkinson comes in for Boston. Shelley Duncan leads off with a single to left. Russ Canzler comes up and doubles off the green monster. Third and second, no one out, Jason Donald coming up. I chase a bad pitch and pop up to Gonzalez, one out. But the top of the order is up and Choo is coming to the plate, 3rd best average in the AL.
Th CPU guesses squeeze on the first pitch (I'm considering it too) and pitches out. I take. It then intentionally walks Choo and sets up the DP. Now normally Kipnis would be coming up, but I took him out, so here comes Lou Marson. I decide I'm gonna let him swing once, but then if fate takes me to that point, I'm gonna squeeze. Well, after a ball and a taken strike, I go for it. Here comes Duncan. Marson lays down a beauty, I catch the CPU completely off guard, Youklis doesn't even field the ball cleanly. Marson reaches, 5-4 Tribe bases still loaded. Damon then pops up to Youklis. 2 out. Cabrera comes up, hitting .188 on the season, only batting cuz he pitch ran for Santana. Blasts a grand slam over the green monster. 9-4. Knockout punch. I pump my fist like a maniac as A-Cab trots around the bases.
Jeremy Accardo shuts them down 1-2-3 in the 10th. 5 game losing streak over, chance to split the 4 games series with Boston still alive.Comment

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
I just gave up six runs in the first inning without getting a single out. The Astros were just teeing off on Dillon Gee. Mind you, the 'Stros were 4-20 () coming into the game, while I was 18-10. I got out of the inning somehow. I was just more in shock seeing what was going down. I proceeded to hit three home runs in the game, and ended up losing 6-5. I just couldn't get the tying run in. I hit back-to-back home runs, one of which was from...drumroll...Jason Bay!
The dude is hitting under .200, and doesn't even start for me anymore. Art imitating life if you ask me. I'm just not going to boo the guy when he gets hurt...

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
Definitely a get up and yell moment last night.
Playing in my season as the Orioles, and I'm in the first game of a series at Camden Yards against the Yankees. The Bronx Bombers lived up their name in the last series we played at their place, where they took 2 of 3 from me mainly driven by timely blasts into the cheap seats.
I take the lead early with a 2nd inning solo-shot from Mark Reynolds. But, I give the run right back on a slider to A-Rod that caught too much of the plate. But, my guys hang in there as Brian Roberts hits a 2-run shot, followed by Mark Reynolds going yard for the second time, now it's 4-1. In the meantime, I'm doing a good job keeping the Yanks off the bases, and keeping the ball in the yard. I manage to tack on two more runs to make it 6-1.
Then the wheels start to come off. In bottom of the 6th, Russell Martin batting in the 9th spot walks, followed by Brett Gardner dropping down a bunt and beating it out. Cano comes up, I go up 0-2 on him, then he won't bite and I can't get a call from blue, so on a 3-2 change up down and away he smashes the ball to DEEP right field for a 3-run shot.
It's now 6-4 and Soup can't help himself and has to remind me that "Just a few minutes ago this was a 5-run game." After some grumbling my wife informs me that I don't seem to be enjoying my game. Gee really, ya think, ya got any more astute observations,Princess Obvious.
In the 8th Granderson gets to first, steals second, and comes around to score on a single. It's 6-5 and I openly state to my wife that I am going to lose this game.
In the 9th, one out and Martin makes it first again, Gardner comes back up. He grounds to short, I get Martin at second but of course Speed Racer beats the throw to first. I know whats coming next. I throw over to keep him close, I pitch fastballs up and away to give Weiters a chance, but I still can't get him as he steals second.
Hands get thrown into the air, more shouting, both dogs scurry to their crates, wife follows closely behind...and she thought gaming was supposed to be fun.
Cano is back up. I know a single will score Gardner, and I'm convinced if the game gets tied or they go ahead it's over. I haven't scored since the 5th and don't foresee that changing. Second pitch of the at-bat Cano gets out in front of cutter from Jim Johnson trying to close the game. Hits it on the ground to first--not a weak grounder, but not a scorcher by any means--but of course Reynolds can't get his glove down in time and it scoots by him into the outfield.
Oh well, there it is, knew it was coming...but I go ahead and play it out. Markakis fields it and, even though he doesn't have the strongest arm around, actually gets rid of it quickly and slings a laser to home that beats Gardner by a step. Third out at home.
Game over, victory preserved. That's what I'm talking 'bout.
Now where the hell is my blood pressure medicine?Comment

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
Did you watch all cutscenes or something? Cause a game with no runs, should take like 40-45 minutes. Since yours was 22 innings, that should be maybe 2 hours at most.Comment

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
Playing the D'backs in the rubber game at Citi Field. Looked like a pitchers' duel going into the top of the 6th when ARI scored 5 runs off my relievers (they led 5-2). I was like, "Not again -__-." But my team came back later on to tie it up & I was jumping & yelling at the TV after Torres hit a 2-out, game-tying triple in the 7th. Then, I took the lead with a single from Valdespin. But of course, my bullpen would blow it again, allowing 2 runs in the 8th. Bottom 8th, after Davis was inches away from hitting a HR, Bay hits a HR to tie the game. I was pumped & yelling at the other team. Then of course, my bullpen gives up another run (can't these guys pitch a solid inning for once! *hyperbole*). I had to face J.J. Putz, who hasn't blown a save nor allowed a run in 7 opportunities. I put Nieuwenhuis to pinch-hit for the pitcher & he hits a leadoff, ground-rule double. I was cheering on. Then Torres comes out who ties the game with a double of his own to tie the game 8-8! Valdespin walks [See a trend here? Rookies Nieuwenhuis & Valdespin, along with Quintanilla, have been playing good for my team]. Then David Wright, who was kinda in a slump. Facing Ziegler & he hits a single through the left side, Torres scores, & the Mets win it!!! I was jumping around pretending I was in the team & giving high-fives.Last edited by MIKEY93; 06-30-2012, 04:52 PM.Originally posted by Barney StinsonNever in the history of New York City nightclubs has there been a shortage of dudes. Re: Those get up and yell moments...
In the top of the 9th inning, I rally back from down 2-1 to take the 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the inning, I bring in Mariano Rivera, who gives up a leadoff hit, then two quick outs leaving the runner at first, with two outs and the pitcher's spot up, they use some no-name as a pinch-hitter and he hits a walk-off, come-from-behind home run...Comment

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
That's because the Mets have a ****ty bullpen. They really only have two guys that are worth anything, I don't know if that's the case in AZ or not as I don't know the team very well. I would suggest with both teams though to always after the sixth too have at least two guys up at all times.Originally posted by theenginePlus, there are lots of illiterate Pro Bowlers. My Cubs, playing at home against the Reds. Pitchers duel going into the 7th inning, when Jordan Zimmermann(acquired in a trade) decided that 0-0 wasnt any fun, starts throwing batting practice, coupled with relievers, give up 7 runs. David DeJesus hits a 3 run shot in the bottom half, giving me slight life. Gets to the bottom of the 9th, i load the bases with 1 out. Soriano, who has been having a career resurrection this season, proceeds to pop out on a hanging slider down the middle. No worries, i have Bryan LaHair coming up, flies out to the ivy in right to end it. I almost spiked my controller to the ceiling.NFL- Green Bay Packers

It be like that. Parnell has an ERA over 8. Rauch, Byrdak, Ramírez, & sometimes Batista pitch solid. Last game, I lost on a walf-off hit by Wigginton.. he swung 3-0.Originally posted by Barney StinsonNever in the history of New York City nightclubs has there been a shortage of dudes. Re: Those get up and yell moments...
I hate the logic of who gets greenlighted and who doesn't on 3-0 counts. I can totally understand if I groove on down mainstreet or pitch to the same pitch and/or location on that count, but when I'm still pitching to the corners and they are in the batters hotzones and they drive it on me I'm always like WTF. As far as the Mets bullpen that is exactly how I see it working as well whenever I play them. If I were to franchise with them some free agent bullpen help would be signed in spring training no question about it.Originally posted by theenginePlus, there are lots of illiterate Pro Bowlers. Re: Those get up and yell moments...
This was back in MLB 11 with the All-time best players of each franchise roster set.
Opening day as the Phillies, down 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth. Got on with John Kruk as a PH for the pitcher. Two batters get out then the one and only Mike Schmidt hits a walk-off HR.Comment
