    Re: Analog or Buttons

Analog hitting, meter pitching, analog throwing (meter off), auto baserunning

I have noticed a problem lately that I cannot seem to correct with analog hitting. It seems that no matter when I start my stride I'm late on fast pitches and early on the slow stuff. Sometimes I purposely delay my stride and I'll still be early on a changeup. Also, I've had a problem with trying to wait on a curveball. I'll hold the stride and go to swing and nothing will happen.

Anyone else experience these problems? I have pitch speed on 4. Starting to wonder if my controller might be the issue. I'm pretty rough on the controller when I'm hitting so I wouldn't be surprised if damage has been done.

          ^^^

i love and use all analog too!! it just feels right.

with analog hitting, it just feels better and more rewarding when you do make contact with the ball... especially when it's a home run. it's how it feels when you hit in real life, after getting all of your mechanics right (weight back, stride, rotate, swing, etc. etc.). and it's the same here in the show... you HAVE TO get your stride AND timing just right or you won't succeed.

with analog pitching, it feels more realistic to me because i can't ALWAYS throw strikes when i want to, or locate the ball where/how fast/slow i want to... this is after all how it is with pitching in real life.

with analog fielding/throwing... it feels more realistic because like with pitching, i can't always throw it whenever or where ever i want to. sometimes double plays work, and sometimes they don't. these are the results i get more often than not with all analog. whereas with timing/buttons/etc., i tend to make far less mistakes and can place/execute everything exactly where i want to when i want to, which we all know isn't the case in real life.

anyways, that's my take on the controls for this game. btw, i play MLB 12 for the Vita only as i don't own the PS3.

I'm straight over from 2K, so I'm all about analog hitting. Although I use button pitching because 2K did analog better with that.
