Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist

I put this in the franchise thread, but I'll add it here too. Better salary logic. I finally made it to the offseason and it's a bit ... baffling.

Brian McCann made $6.6 million last year on the game. He's 29 and he just won the NL MVP while putting up career numbers. So what does he want? $4.1 million a year.

Jair Jurrjens made more than $8 million last year. After going 13-8 with a 2.40 ERA, and at the age of 28, he wants $5.5 million?

On the flip side, Craig Kimbrel made $610K last season. He's still eligible for arbitration. But he wants $11M a year.

As a Blue Jays fan I would love the option to play in a ballpark with a closed roof. It doesn't have to move along the tracks during a game but an option before the start to play with the roof open or closed would be amazing! I remember Russell said the stadiums arn't made of lego pieces but if they can re-create 30 MLB ballparks for the Vita then they should be able to do mirror image ballparks with a closed roof in Toronto, Seattle, Houston, Miami, and Milwaukee. I would also like to see improvements on the weather in 13. Maybe asking for the World Baseball Classic is a stretch but I would love this!

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist

Another couple of things from me...

First, brand name equipment will never happen unless someone ponies up some money. I would think that Nike or Mizzuno or Louisville Slugger (or several of them) would have to pay to have their brands shown in the game. Not going to happen. It's just not.

It's not like there isn't variation or whatever in the game. Does it really matter if there is a logo on a glove you MIGHT see in an instant replay?

However, I noticed something happen the other day in the offseason of my franchise that kinda irked me. When I try to trade or trade for a player whose contract is expired in the offseason, I'm told he can't be traded because he doesn't have a deal.

But, I've seen several times the CPU is allowed to do it. The other day Texas and San Fran swapped Mike Napoli for Buster Posey. I went and checked their contract statuses and at least Posey's was expired (Napoli's might have been, too, but I'm not sure. I'm positive Posey's was, though).

So, either make it so users can trade those players or remove the ability for the CPU to do so.

I am hoping that MLB 13 The Show presentation will be greatly improved and add all the little things you would expect from a baseball broadcast on Fox Baseball, ESPN,TBS and so on.

MLB 12 presentation was a nice improvement over 11 however there is still a lot of different kinds of "Stat Overlays" that you see all the time on real TV Baseball broadcasts that need to be in MLB The Show!

Can't wait for MLB 13 The Show info to start rolling out!

          Not long now

The reason this happens is the lone way of determining how much a player wants is his overall rating. Buster Posey for example, could be a full bar but hit .180 and still want 20 mil.

My wish is that they get the players correct in the base-runner window. Meaning Jersey #, compress sleeves. What is so baffling about this it was done correctly in past versions of the Show.

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist

Revamped fielding, the outfielders are just too good at it with their angles and playing the ball off the wall.

How about when we steal a base and the ball is thrown in the outfield, the runner can advance instead of taking his time getting up and wiping dirt off his jersey?

Budget caps are not realistic like it was said above.

The crowd needs to get more realistic.

Can we have more franchise options regarding how income works, more promotions and how the $ works into the budget?

I also find some of the throwing motions to be very long at times or just plain unrealistic. If I'm playing the CPU and his pitcher fields the ball, there is no such thing as momentum. He sprints to the ball, stops immediately to grab the ball and fires to first base getting me out. When my pitcher fields the ball, he has momentum taking him away and takes his sweet time with a long wind up throw to 1st base and the runner is safe.

How about a feature allowing us to customize a batting stance and pitching motion?

More classic stadiums would be nice.

More real advertisers would work, I'm sure that the big brand names wouldn't mind paying to get their product into a game where everyone can see. It's advertising for them, afterall.

The reason the details were removed was because of all the increasing detail in the stadium and players, they had to simplify runner window details so the game could still run smooth. Might see the numbers etc. return with the ps4.

I'm sitting here watching the Arizona Fall League's Military Appreciation Day game on MLB Network and I had a thought: Why not include an AFL option for the offseason?

I don't think you have to have playability for the season (it can be a behind-the-scenes sim or something), but it would be cool to be able to send some prospects or a minor leaguer who missed part of the year to the AFL for more ABs.

Basically when the AFL is supposed to start you have the option to send a number of minor leaguers to Arizona. You can send your draft picks, a prospect you want to advance a little more or a guy who was hurt for a large portion of the year. It would help development, but you can't send your whole AAA team. Like maybe three or four guys total per organization.

Yea thats exactly how it should be because IRL there are no ratings, only numbers obviously so if I have a player hit .340/40 HR/120 RBI he should want like 15-20 mil in the offseason whereas someone who hits .150 (regardless of who it is) should really only be asking for 250K. Also I LOVE the idea of including the Arizona Fall League. That would be a great addition along with if they added the World Baseball Classic.

I hope they add a search feature in the player vault. It would be so much easier to find an indivual player that you want to download instead of having to sort through 50 million pages!

Except that there are still players IRL who have down seasons and STILL get big $$$.

It shouldn't be either or....it should be a bit of both....as well as team strategy...and team need.

Yeah, I'd like AFL and winter league integration as well. And there actually is a rule on the amount of players who can go. But I like the idea of those guys getting an extra boost in development speed by playing in the AFL, because that's what it's for in real life as well.
