Why adding something else was deemed necessary is beyond me. Oh, and BTW: hitting is supposed to be hard. Hitting a baseball is supposed to be the hardest thing in sports to do. God forbid that should be accurately reproduced....

And if the senior producer of the game truly came up with this, then I'd personally want a new one heading up the direction of this game. While this is a great baseball game (and probably best all-time), I can think of 100 things I'd rather see done to further the reality of this game rather than "beginner's mode". I'm actually saddened that 2K is no longer in the baseball biz. Everything I've read so far about MLB13 says "coasting" to me. With no competition, that's exactly what I'm seeing from early impression about the game so far.

But it's all about what's on the back of the case, a "selling point" for the game sites to talk about...instead of fixing other, much needed gameplay elements.
Baseball is not one of the most popular games for kids. I understand why the developers are trying to make the game accessable to all, think about the 5 year old that does not understand the intricacies of baseball. After trying the game they may get bored or frustrated and never purchase the game again.

By having this it allows the game to push more units and keep baseball gaming for all of us. This will not affect how the ones on OS play the game in any way.

You're missing the point, but for whatever reason you seem to want to be argumentative so...I dunno what to say.

And it gives you all you need to learn to hit and pitch. But in this age of youtube and wikipedia, etc they can't be bothered?

Maybe they need to make a "bobblehead baseball superstars" kinda game for the people that can't be bothered to learn how to play the real game?
Hahaha!! Last time I checked, this was a baseball "VIDEO GAME" that does a fairly good job of simulating the sport. As for beginner's mode, I guess you forgot that you played tee-ball at one point in time.

Hah...actually I'm old enough to have grown up on "coach pitch" little league.

Tee-ball is for ******* that get a trophy just for playing, thank you.

I think you're missing the point. It's find to argue what's the best way to go about introducing gamers to the sport and its difficulties, but it is definitely something that needs to be in the game, so I like what SCEA is trying to do.

But it's already in the game. There's a whole section on hitting and pitching practice already.

I think you already miss the point. What do *you* think needs to be addressed? Spongeball Baseball league? Geesh.

There is a practice mode, but clearly from the feedback they recieved gamers felt more needed to be done to address the difficulty of the game, so that's what they did.

And yes, that's exactly what I think should be addressed

How much simpler does it need to be? Like I've said, there's already modes to address hitting and pitching. If that isn't enough to help you hit and pitch, then I'm pretty sad for the rest.

This is a baseball game. Baseball is pretty friggin simple. If you have to dumb things down to the common denominator, then I give up. Hitting something with a stick is simple. If you can't figure that out, then I don't know what to say.

Because I think it can be better. And I think SCEA could do miles better than we get every year.

Go ahead and parade for them. But I hate because I love.

Here's the deal. Its not like this feature completely ruined this years game. It's not like it's taking extra features out. This was most likely worked on by scea for a year or two.

Why do people get so upset. If you think it's stupid, don't use it. Is it really wrong of scea to put this in for newcomers to the series? If this kind of thing is what makes or breaks a game then I've lost all hope in video games.

Alot of casual baseball gamers will just pick up the sticks and swing at everything you throw at them. They have no sense of timing and no type of eye to notice a pitch. This mode supposedly helps with something like that. Baseball is not as simple as pick up a stick and hit a ball.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.
