On another note will players not under contract, but still under team control be able to be traded? I just noticed a bunch of players signing before the arbitration cutoff this year who were trade this offseason, so it permitted under MLB rules obviously. But in the game most prospects cant be trade in the offseason, which is when they would be most likely to be traded, since they have no contract according to the game.

The cpu makes those trades now in game. It is one thing on my list to look and ask about.

Sorry if this has already been asked (not reading all 10 pages), but can we finally re-sign players during the season? If not can we please get this in for 14? I would absolutely love the ability to re-sign players during the season. It would add a much needed level of realism to the game.

          Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR

My friends and I play out an entire historical season (so...a lot of roster editing):

-Will we finally get a universal editor (ex: an option to make all minors players "C" potential with stirrup socks, etc) instead of having to do that one by one?

-Connected to the above question, will it ever be possible for edited rosters to be carried over from one year to the next?

-Love the idea that you are bringing pull-even-opposite field hitting tendencies in the game will this be a part of player creation/editing too?...

-Hopefully, THE SHOW is in the process of bringing in how most hitters are either fastball OR breaking hitters (and the inverse how some players never are able to hit certain breaking pitches or heaters in certain locations)....that would be amazingly out of hand.

          Last 2 questions:

-Will we finally get the option to choose sock type/seperate from pants and shirts (because sometimes-as in that '74 braves uniform pic that was recently added-the socks are the only thing that is off in the throwbacks)?

-(next year we play out the 1970 season) Are there any plans on adding additional cleat choices for players?...I mean the tennis shoe style with the thick soles are fine but would love, aesthetically, to see the kind with the thin soles and the leather flap over the laces that they wore for 50 or so years before the 1990s--SEE attached photos:

            Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR

I'm still really curious about the new budgets.

I'm assuming they will be similar to real life team budgets, but less. But then game would need to have each player's salary be relatively accurate to one another.

So if player A makes 25 mil, B makes 20 mil, and C makes 12 mil in real life. it might be A 20, B 15, C 9 in the game.

This is not always the case in the game though. If the dev team cant have accurate salaries in the game, can they at least have them relatively accurate to real life between the in game player salaries? As in scale everyone's salary down from real life. Or is this not allowed either and it needs to be a bit random?

An example of a problem I can think of is for example in my franchise I have

Johan Santana making 22.0 mil and Albert Pujols making 15.0 mil.

So with the new budgets the Angels might have a budget more than the Mets if they are considered a bigger market, but get Pujols for cheaper. When in real life Pujols technically has a salary of around 25 mil and Santana around 23 mil. So Pujols should be more expensive.

I'd rather see Pujols with 22.0 mil and Santana with like 20.0 mil. But I guess this is not allowed, if it was I would expect it to be in the game already.

If the game does not keep the real life salaries at least comparably the same between the in game players as in real life, what's the point of having the new budget system derived from real life data?

Maybe I missed something though about the salaries in MLB 13 though.

I'm not sure if this has already been discussed but it would be nice in franchise to be able to sort all players by position and attribute. Especially when you're looking for a trade or trying to get a free agent because I'd like to sort by different attributes to see who is best at fielding, contact, power etc.

                  Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR

                  Another couple of questions:

-Will off-line franchise players be able to adjust the # of teams/# of games played and who is played (and win) in order to accomodate historical franchise players?

-Will there be anymore CLASSIC stadiums (or even just a couple slightly editable "COOKIE CUTTER" stadiums=Pirates, Phillies, Cardinals) added.........or at least a pack featuring field surface possibilities (i.e. sick light green carpet/astroturf, the same light green astroturf-damaged/torn-with visible seams showing, "real" grass-not golf course turf-that has imperfections dirt spots (AND rocks), "real" grass that shows the distress/lines that comes when a field is also played on by a football team also) available as optional DLC?

In my opinion, the more historical additions (even if generic and editable) the better when dealing with America's National Pastime.

                    Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR

                    Final one (I think):

-Have any changes been made to the UMPIRES variability?
It would be ire to have the option to edit umpire strike zone tendencies and then assign certain umpires with those tendencies to specific leagues.

For example, (for historic franchisers) assign the umpires with the high strike zones to the American League and the umps edited with the low strike zone tendencies to the NL.

Will the player cards have the life time stats on the back of the cards like how real baseball cards do?

Is there any way to set the number of CPU trades during the season. Example. Low med hi trades setting

So with the new system of players who join teams during the season getting updated hats anyone that signs from the free agent category will be given that teams hat, correct?

Example: when Michael Bourn signs from FA he will be given the team hat and we won't see anymore guys with the generic MLB 13 Show hat.

I assumed it would make the player picture a generated one instead of the real photo. So when a player switches teams, or signs as a FA, the real photo would be replaced by the game generated one like for CAPs.

                                Correct;

Any movement from the team from which the roster from SCEA has them, results in the player pic being replaced with a generated picture with the correct jersey/hat on it.

Player pics themselves will not change jerseys/hats.
