Can you elaborate at all on how its weighted?

I'd like assume that a low contact, high power hitter would be weighted toward PULL. While a low power, high contact player with speed might be weighted toward PUSH. That way you might be able to "force" the game to give the tendency you want by manipulating the initial attributes.

Or is it that for example, just using random numbers here.

If the devs observed that about 30% of real life players are pull, 50% balanced, and 20% push the game will randomly give out those tendencies to mimic those percentages. So in theory if 100 players were created 30 would be pull, 50 would be balanced and 20 would be push in the game.

This has got me scared now. So if a MLB player stance has a follow through attached you cannot change that at all? So if Pujols has two handed follow through again we are stuck with it? Please say no.

Can you maybe elaborate as to what attached to stance means in your post exactly?

          1. Players do not seem to retire while in contract. In all the sims the only time I saw a retirement in franchise was for an injury. This makes the mode such an awesome experience. (Trust me Angel fans) you are going to wish you never gave that long term contract to Pujols, because now you will be stuck with that big contract at the end of his career and no one will want to trade for an old declining player with a high salary. You will get handcuffed budget wise.

          2. Auto sim for the draft in 30 team control for non-user controlled teams. The only disadvantage of using 30 team control before was that we had to draft for everyone or sim the entire draft for both rule 5 and amateur. Now in the profile you can select to have drafting automatic or manual.
No questions here. I just wanted to comment on how awesome these two pieces of info from the CD Impressions thread are. These plus the way the scouting and development looks/sound (along with yet unveiled details about presentational aspects) have me salivating for the franchise blog.

Also, I wanted to pass along my annual "thank you" to SCEA for hosting this event each year as well as a thanks to all those invited who take the time to really dig into the game. Good stuff as always. Looking forward to March!

            Scared?

            No....
            PICK A STANCE...ANY STANCE...
            then...
            PICK A FOLLOW THROUGH.....1 or 2 handed.
It is separate and does NOT change the default STANCE of the player.
If Harper suddenly started to do a 1 handed follow through...change it. vice versa.

I do pertaining to the first impression you posted. Can any of the CD guys comment on if players retire at fairly early ages as well, in the past its been around 34-36 that they start retiring which is very unrealistic and annoying. Also does that mean that all the MLB players have appropriate contract lengths in the game. You mentioned Pujols, but what about the other long term deals? Fielder, S. Castro, Wright, Kemp, Longoria, others as well. Do they all have their long contracts even if the salary is inaccurate?

I noticed that step in isn't involved, does that mean the step in is tied to the stance, and cannot be edited? Also what does DEF mean? (Excuse my ignorance).

Edit: Also did not see any mention of new gloves or cleats, but I'm pretty sure those are in anyways.

I thought on the fact sheet it actually said something line 'step in' for a swing type choice. Not sure on why the fact sheet says that Would you also be able to post and descriptions of the choices for each category a bit. Not all, but just a general feel of what they are.

I was really hoping you could chose player specific animations like NBA 2K, but I'm glad there are at least more than 2 choices for each category.

                        21. Ability to assign swing animations when creating or editing a player... follow through, step in, etc...

Default. Like what normally comes with the stance before you edit it all.

Any chance they also added the batters box so you can see how they will actually stand in the box without having to start a game??
